Total Launcher has a learning curve but has support for foldables and can have separate screens. Once get pass learning it, it's really good and with the custom animations you can do so much.

I haven't learned it, but that's why I suggested checking it out. Supposedly it's the one launcher that has specific functions built for foldables. That's unique, the others are all the same.

I use total launcher on Duo and it works well. There are a few settings you need to know though, like turning off tablet mode and changing open app animations to one of the fast or instant options. The amount of customization is incredible, but you have to learn how to do it or you basically can't do anything. Square Launcher is made by the same Dev and is also really good if you like the live tile Windows phone style. It also takes customization but is much easier than Total Launcher. It's sort of similar to Launcher 10 but better options and works better last I used them both. It's been a while since I used both though, they may have changed a lot.

Just for the record, icon dock can be activated on this phone set going to the advanced tab of the dock options and selectin "display as overlay". All now works fine and you can have up to 5 dock pages and flip between them.

I used to heavily customize my phones with Nova launcher but haven't felt the need to with the One Plus OxygenOS ui. The stock launcher is sufficiently simple and beautiful.

Still would be nice to get an official Surface Duo launcher with all the UI functions of a dual screen and phone mode when the phone is closed. The Microsoft launcher isn't designed for foldables but how difficult would it be for Microsoft to include a duo format for these phones? In a way, Duo can live on without making another duo device if they could just implement their launcher for multiple screens.

Hi! Watching on my new OnePlus open! Thanks to your videos covering so many things in the past couple of weeks. Regarding launchers, I've tried a few but feel the stock launcher works best for me as i crave stability more than anything else and can't stand apps crashing/ misbehaving on me ! The phone has been an absolute joy till now and worth every penny!

Nova works decently well on both screens except for the occasional jitters like the home button stopping to work. Definitely will try Total launcher. Sounds promising. Much needed video Shane. Thanks!

I used to have the pro version of Nova Launcher on my OP devices, just preferred it so much over the stock. Now that I'm probably getting the Open Apex edition and giving up my S33 Ultra, I'm kinda worried of how much less smooth and operational everything is. I remember I really disliked the outdated software of OP, but I hope I will get used to it again.

​@@scaryifliteral Got my Open 2 weeks ago and after fiddling around with Nova, Smart and Hyperion, I found that all of them exhibit that icons delay that is seen on Smart Launcher and apparently it's an issue on gestures navigation (found multiple people reporting it on xda), on buttons navigation it works ok so even though I was finally getting the hang of gestures, I reverted to buttons and I'm so happy because I was able to just restore my launcher backup from my previous phone ❤️

Nova is excellent on my Oneplus Open. I have had no issues with it and it works perfectly.

If you're just looking for a Launcher that just fills up the whole inside screen of Oppo Find N3, I cannot Recommend the Hyperion Launcher enough. It just does that, so for simple folks like me, it is a god send.

AIO Launcher is excellent, I'm using it on the Pixel Fold. App list on the right slides out when phone is closed.

Something about the pixel fold slaps so hard tbh. The Oneplus open might be objectively better, but from an emotional point of view, no foldable looks as luxurious as the pixel fold imo. Don’t know if it’s the form factor, or pixel UI, or wallet shape but something about the pixel fold just feels so high end. An instant classic.

Been using Launcher 10 for over 4 years. It's great. Has its share of bugs like all Launchers but 95% of the time it works. I went with it over square home because of the live tiles which I think costs $5 one time fee. It's more than worth it as it's actually better than the original windows phone because of support for all android apps.😀👍

I use square home on my fold for years, it's really great and I think it's super great for foldable phone. Use traditional UI on foldable phone does not have efficiency.

@scaryifliteral Hi, I noticed that when I installed Nova launcher on my one plus open it seems that the adaptive refresh does not work at all and everything is very "laggy" almost like it's all at 60Hz. Can you confirm whether you have this issue on yours with Nova launcher? I used the latest version 8.0.8 Beta as well as the stable 7.

I have some strange behaviors, when i try to switch to another app with a swipe on the bottom of the screen. This happens with all other launcher except the original one.

I got the OnePlus Open this week. I immediately switched over to Nova Launcher from a backup. And....about 24 hours later, I switched right back. The main reason why I had it set up was I liked that you can remove the names of the apps from the home screens and app launcher. I then realized that i never really tried to customize the stock launcher. So......I did and i found that you can remove the names in the stock launcher!! I like the taskbar and easily dragging apps for dual screen purposes, so im going to keep the stock launcher. I will end up adding icons on my screen since in Nova i was able to expand how many icons i can have at the bottom, and then swipe over to the next row, but to me its worth the conpromise. I am really impressed with what OnePlus has done here!!

I tried to use the built in launcher, but then I miss the Microsoft Launcher too much, so I reinstall it, despite it being buggy, like the google calendar is stuck on Thursday still and the email is just trying to load... Still my prefered launcher, I'm just hoping it'll be fixed soon.

When a new product comes out there are immediately tons of topics that I can cover and that's exactly what I do here. I try my best to cover as much as possible to best serve that community and also make back my investment. With the pixel fold (I assume that's the fold you're referring to), things have slowed down a bit because it's been out for several months and there's just not as much for me to cover. All the videos I've made about the open, I probably made a version of for the Pixel fold months ago. Even still, I have made content which involves the pixel fold three or four times in the last week.

Nova would be a great candidate if you are blind and need things to blow up to extreme proportions. Otherwise it just looks dated and the devs don't care.
