Also in all fairness I have a feeling most people don't even know the Bluetooth feature exists, which to me feels like that's more Samsung's fault than anything. It feels like the kind of thing they should be mentioning at every event especially ever since they merged the Note and S lines. I know DJ Koh introduced the feature with the Note 9 but that was back when the Note was pretty much just a power user device.

Absolutely valid points. But not many positive changes happened either, that's why it bothers more than ever.

I really have my eyes on this device. I've been a Samsung user since the Galaxy S II. I upgraded.. (that's debatable lol)..to the Z Fold 6, which was my first foldable device. I'm ready to trade-in the Z Fold 6 after having it for less than a year. I usually keep my devices for 2 to 3 years. The Oneplus Open 2 checks all the boxes as far as innovation goes so far. I'm ready to make that switch once more information is released, like the pros and cons.

I really hope oneplus open capitalises on this opportunity to develop desktop option and a bluetooth stylus pen to make it more appealing for people who wants/needs those features!

The important thing is that the galaxy s ultra had an s-pen with blue tooth and this is one of the most important values of the s ultra and for many people, including me and now that blue tooth is no longer there, and this diminishes, significantly reduces Samsung's trust and value very much, Samsung's characters behave completely untrustworthy year after year, because they take away more and more valuable parts of this product from their flagship phone s ultra, and the point is not whether, who and how much uses the s-pen stylus, the important thing is that it can no longer be used completely, but only partially, and its value has dropped enormously with the removal of this blue tooth and the consistent removal of other values, there is no longer an sd card, the jack was removed, the battery is not a big deal, the camera is actually average, not good, now the blue tooth function was also taken from the s ultra, the functions are disappearing more and more, and they are forcing it in its place and trying to sell the product more and more fakely, just like this fake ai, because it is known that most people are lazy by nature and does not stand up for itself! So it does not matter who, whether and how much uses the s-pen functions and or other things, what is important is that the originality and valuable parts of the s-ultra phone are being reduced year after year, and I say that no one should let such things happen and should not actually accept such things, that valuable parts are consistently being reduced from phones and updated values are not given in place, and also those people who do not use any functions in any products, people must and can cultivate honesty, dignity, courage in themselves, so as not to agree to the fact that the most important functions and values of this product are being taken away from various products one after another!

I just disagree that removing two features that less than 1% of people were using greatly diminishes anything. I think it's all down to perception.

Maybe they changed it because they're changing how the pen works on the fold with no digitizer so maybe they're doing that across the board with the s pen

All the removal of the bluetooth of the Ultra S pen does is tell me that we're probably never getting a Fold specific version of a bluetooth S pen even if they do finally put one in the phone.

Less that 1%? Yeah Craig was right might as well save money if you find out 99% of your user base. Ninety-Nine Percent!! But the loudest are most likely a tiny minority compared to the percent of normies that Craig says will still buy the flagship and NOT even notice the missing bluetooth features. Meh those who dont like it either cry more or vote with your wallet. $ammie dont care. This is the same company that had a flagship explode and STILL they continue to sell flagships. The s24Ultra beat s23u sales. Until they see diff they will stay the course with yearly incremental BS. Look at what happened eith Fold SE. Fold 6 sales sucked so they were forced to give consumers what they wanted. But gasp and swoon: they removing the digitizer?! What percentage of users use SPen on Fold to justify removal? Yeah. Might as well save costs and pad that bottom line Cuz if they found out <1% of people use bluetooth spen features then they also prolly found out people use AI more or are at least still intrigued. Eff selling it in the tech space, normies are the lions share. And as annoying as it is they wont offer 16gb ram, they prolly also know limitations of current ai in phone and save costs on just using 12gb since thats more than enough to run ai smoothly. Hate $ammie all you want but still follow the money and vote with your wallets.

Horrible.. happy to a creator dedicating a video to this issue. What a way to push people to the apple ecosystem. I thought they were adding ultra wide band to compete with apple pencil pro.. that would have been an old samsung move.. but now. Theyre basically a wannabe apple.., might as well by the real thing and switch.

It never feels good to lose features but also if less than 1% or even if it were 5% clearly thats not going to impact most people that are going to buy the phone. The good news is, if you want those features, there is now a cheaper phone that allows you to do that and still just as capable as this new one. Bad optics for sure but in a couple months i doubt anyone will be talking about it unless its just a "my phone is better than yours" comparison.

In the general public i would expect there is no AI fatigue at all. They do not watch unpacked events. They do not make content talking about it. They watch a commercial about a cool new this or that, they may watch a review or 6 about a device they are thinking of buying. That's about the size of the exposure level of a regular non enthusiast. Of course they are going to be excited about hearing about new things.

It's so tiresome to watch people lump like two dozen features into one basket and wholesale dismiss them all. I could rattle off quite a few features they've added over the last two years that I am confident people are using more often than Air Gestures.
@Trickproof
@Trickproof Сағат бұрын
The only reason I would use the BT S pen is for the remote shutter function in situations where I can't use the hand gestures. Even so, if I got the Ultra I'd still want the full S pen. It does look bad on them to ditch it. When I think of the Ultra, it's the S Pen phone. Maybe they'll release a separate Bluetooth S pen ($129) that can charge wirelessly on the back of the phone (using an official Samsung case) or buy its own proprietary fast charger (sold separately for $79). That would be a steal.

While I think that it sucks to remove a feature or features, and not roll those cost savings down to consumers... I don't think that this will hurt Samsung at all. Bad press for a bit but they will be fine.

The benefit of losing the Bluetooth functions is that the device is slimmer and lighter now because of that. The predecessors always had a mini wireless charger inside for the S spen which took away space and weight more. And now that it's gone they can make the device slimmer which makes sense because they weren't using a new batteries technology so the only way was to reduce some of the internals

Apologies, rant incoming from S23 Ultra user...I use the S-Pen constantly for starting and stopping video recordings at events, and even taking pictues and recordings for my own videos. I set a custom cursor for the pen and even use the motion gestures with it at times because it's FUN. This little pen and the features that came with it are half the reason I wanted an Ultra in the first place, ad I was under the impression that people buying an "Ultra" phone were planning on using all the little flourishees that came with it. Apparently I was wrong. This hurts me. Watching Samsung go all in with Google, their presentations being completely overtaken by the AI buzzword, and now this. Hearing them encourage us to buy their rings and smartwatches as a replacement camera shutter, should tell you exactly where Samsung's head is at. I bet you DeX will be next to go, another feature I greatly enjoy. I guess it's possible that only 1% of users enjoy that feature as well... I'm an Android user because I love having options and control. I'm an S23 Ultra user bcause I love the customizations. It's never about whether or not the features are used by 100% of users to me, it's the fact that you CAN use them because someone knew they'd be a great idea to a certain amount of people. The pen change is especially obnoxious because it wasn't hurting anything or anyone by being there, it wouldn't cause any problems to just leave it be. I was already uncertain of their new derction but this pretty much tears it. Yes, it matters that much to me. My next phone will not be a Samsung, they have completely lost me after this.

If anyone is thinking of getting an S25 model, I strongly recommend going for the Plus The S25 Plus is $300 cheaper, with almost identical specs to the Ultra. And the trade in offers are almost identical, and the Samsung credit you get for both phones is exactly the same ($150)

It's definitely worth looking at, but the Ultra has quite a few improvements. Gorilla Glass Armor 2, bigger vapor chamber, better zoom, anti-reflective coating, the S Pen features people actually use (lol), a bigger screen, etc.

Hopefully, the OnePlus Open 2 wows me next month.... or I'm sticking with my S23 Ultra another year. I wasn't impressed with the Fold 4... still not impressed with the Fold 6, and it seems to be better than the Pixel and OnePlus Open. If the Fold 6 had a 5300+ mah battery, 45w+ wired charging, and S Ultra cameras... I'd buy it. The S24 Ultra wasn't enough to warrant an upgrade... and neither is the 25. Open 2 or switching to a Chinese phone from Honor/Hauwei/Xiaomi are my last hopes for something worth upgrading to.

Last year was a skip for me cuz there wasn't enough improvement. Looks like this year is gonna be a skip as well. Not to mention I hate matte anti-glare coatings that make the display look grainy and less clear and vibrant. I tried out the S24 ultra in a store, and the display looked like a huge downgrade to me. And there was that report that Samsung is using an older Gen display for cost cutting and the s pen downgrade. I'm sticking with my S23 ultra.

I've been saying it for months the s25 series is an absolute joke!! Samsung not only Stripped Away features from the S-Pen the new camera still cannot take action photos and like I said Samsung ignored the new silicon carbon Battery tech which would have allowed them to put a 5500 milliamp battery in the new device they're still using the tiny camera sensors and they're providing their competition the Vivo X200 Pro with the best camera sensor in the world the HP 9 by Samsung. That's right Samsung provides its competition with a far superior camera sensor then they utilize in their own devices! On top of that the honor magic 7 Pro also uses a 200 megapixel Samsung camera sensor that while not as good as the HP 9 is still far superior to the sensor in the s24 ultra and the s25 ultra. No one should apologize for refusing to buy another device from samsung! Even the honor magic 7 Pro utilizes a 3D time of flight sensor to actually map your face rather than the unsecured camera face unlock.. to be honest the honor magic 7 Pro utilizing the Samsung 200 megapixel camera sensor along with having a 3D time of flight sensor is so far superior to the new s25 Ultra that it makes me wonder if Samsung is truly going to go out of business!!

Wrapping up: it's almost shocking the lack of interest that Samsung seems to put in it's own products and their inside-the-box bubble world where the market outside their decision making offices is of no concern to them. This company must think its on a perpetual cruise control where they just need to justify a yearly event by presenting empty suits to the market and releasing the same product every year as if that will in any way take them anywhere good. If anyone still has doubts the sharks will be eaten by the sardines, doubt not. This year's S phones are beyond a joke.. they have been a joke for the past years already but the demented and backwards thinking is only accelerated further. Hardware and creative evolution has literally stopped and the only thing people can talk about, savior of all issues and the future of all futures is to plaster the letters "AI" on everything. "A"mazing "l"diocy as far as I am concerned. We are going no where but backwards from this point on. I am writing this on a Galaxy Note 8.. battery and screen replaced once due to aging and a fall. Other than that, going strong and happily still doing 95% of what any newer phone can do.

Samsung DeX on windows is going away with their One UI 7 upgrade, so this is timely that SCRCPY for a lot of Samsung owners, as it seems like the virtual display will act like DeX if scaled to an appropriate low-DPI option. Corporate managed devices though won't be able to play along as often ADB is blocked by MDM policy, therefore SCRCPY is also blocked. Some phones also come with a really crappy implementation of quickstep launcher (e.g. Ulefone), and the only semi-elegant way with SCRCPY virtual-display I found was using Hyperdroid, as Taskbar is still a mess, and SmartDock launches everything on the primary display.

Rip samsung, making no innovation any longer, zero chance I'd buy a fold 7 and my used mint fold 3 that I got for cheap is still decent. My next foldable phone will definitely not be a samsung, I want a larger unfolded screen and way larger front screen when closed. How hard is that to do? Samsung seems stuck making phones for small hands lol.
