WHO IS BUNCHARTED?
We're Michelle and Alex, an American expat couple living abroad in the Netherlands. 🇳🇱
In 2020, we quit our jobs to travel the world, and... well, that didn't happen. So in 2022, we decided to make an even BIGGER change by packing up our lives (and our cats 🐈) and moving from Austin, Texas, in the US, to Rotterdam, in the Netherlands. Subscribe for new videos like this every week!

It's so much fun to travel around in your home country. Eventhough the Netherlands isn't that big or just simply small, you can live here your whole life and still have so much left too explore. These are great tips of places to stay while doing so!☺️

The crane looks amazing. I love things like that. We once went to Slagharen themepark and slept in a Tipi ( sort of native American traveling tent ) . We love nature last year we went to a town nearby named Lichtenvoorde to a bungalowpark named topparken. Surrounded by nature / forest, we hired bicycles and went to farmers markets and the town in Lichtenvoorde. The pool was amazing. Such a beautifull place that is 100% gonna be our place to go to every year. We went for 2 weeks. It felt 2 years so relaxing and beautiful food is amazing. People there are so sweet. Really a great place.

Another very nice tip: Hotel Oudegracht Utrecht. In the "Werfkelderkamer" next to the canal.

Oh man, that crane thing seems way OP. I'm not sure I could handle it and I'm 100% certain my kids would make that thing spin all night.

Staying for the night in a Yurt (Lunteren), a pipowagen (Wezep, Garderen), a castle (kasteel Slangenburg or Kasteel Huis Bergh, Essenburgh), in a church (Doorwerth or Arnhem), on the water (Het Drijfpaleis) or on an airplane (Teuge). Are all great choies. And yes, thats all in the beautifull and most diverse province of the Netherlands, Gelderland

I think you you should revisit Deventer again...😅 -B&B de Worp -Stadscamping -IJsselhotel -Lemontree restaurant Lemon suites Hotel Finch -Hotel Huis vermeer -Hotel het huis van Deventer Just above Arnhem neighboring the hoge Veluwe: "Spothut de Joffers". I am sure you like it or any of the other accomodations on "Buitenplaats Koningsweg" on former German WW2 Fliegerhors Deelen and later part of the now much smaller Dutch airfield.

Next try Texel, stay in Zuid Eierland ( literally South Eggland) near "de Slufter" . Take 4 days to really feel the island. There used to be a bunker for hire, but I cannot find it anymore

A more affordable and comfortable place in Rotterdam would be Hotel James, next to the Bijenkorf parking. In the Hague Novotel, just across the Bijenkorf.

@@buncharted That doesn't make her old but it makes you a "snotneus"" ... LOL
@tubularap
@tubularap 8 ай бұрын
@@eddys.3524 - For those learning the Dutch language: "snotneus" translates to "snotty nose" or just plain "nose full of snot" 🙂 It's a derogatory term to put down a younger person, or an older person that needs to be taken down a notch more. It can be used almost affectionately, up to more serious, but it will never carry a too harsh accusation. Often used in a funny or ironic way. A term that goes along with that is: "je komt maar net kijken" (= "you're only just arrived to watch"), meaning "you haven't been around yet, you know nothing,".

To add a better translation of the term "Je komt maar net kijken" could be "You have just been born / You have just hatched (from the egg) / You have just opened your eyes."

you are almost nailing the Dutch G. The long "a" in makelaar, not "makkelaar" is something to watch for. double consonant like in koppen (heads, mugs, hitting a ball with your head) means a short "o". One consonant like in kopen(to buy) means it is pronounced long "oo" like in boot(boat). The oo is similar to the English oa.
