This Thailand cave rescue of the soccer team was seriously a very close thing. Thousands of professionals worked on this and many worked from around the world to get the kids out of the cave. Very hard to watch. Every one were heros, cooks, drivers launderers, road fixers, divers, engineers, SEALs and military, everyone. Everyone was praying for their success.

I remember watching it live too. I think a couple of the boys converted into Christians, out of respect for one of the Christian divers. Seeing them emerge safely, was incredible. So sad that the Tai seal died. A true reminder of human compassion.

My husband worked nights at an airbag distributor warehouse. I crossed the same double tracks 4 times a day to take him to and from work. One night I was picking him up and I went to go over the tracks and I seen tail lights. I couldn’t see anyone and it was 1 minute from my husband’s job so I called 911 to report the car and let them know I was picking up my husband and returning to the car because I didn’t want to approach the vehicle alone. Turns out it was an elderly man in his 80’s and he had Alzheimer’s and got confused between the road and tracks. Because it was a bad part of town he thought we were going to rob him so he jumped in his car and locked his doors. It took me about 5 minutes to convince him these are active tracks and he needs to get out of the car. I sat him in my passenger seat and began rendering aid to the gash he got on his arm from trying to push his car off the tracks. Thankfully people stopped and went and told the train yard not to send any trains because there was a car wedged perfectly on the tracks and without a tow truck it wasn’t moving. We seen him and his wife a few days later and they profusely thanked us and the man tried to hand us a wad of cash but we absolutely refused. I kept in contact with the wife and within a couple of months she sadly had to put him in a nursing home because he kept leaving in the car in the middle of the night and getting lost. He passed about 5 months later. I’ll never forget the sheer terror and adrenaline we experienced that night because trains would come barreling through there every 3-5 minutes, so I really thought he was going to be a goner.

It was not the whole world, it was a few chosen, selfless men and women who chose to give the best of themselves to save other humans. Note that there are ndeed very few people like that in six billions world population. When you find such people tell God thanks and thank them the best way you can. From US, UK, Japan, Australia, Thailand and other nations that volunteered to rescue the boys, your humility, love for mankind, courage and sense of duty could not have been demonstrated in a better way.

I remember the Thailand cave rescue very well as if it’s just yesterday. The humanity united to save all 13 young lives was wonderful efforts and I humbly appreciated every single person involved with the rescue operations. I also was very impressed with the children’s calm & polite behavior when finally two rescue divers came to the cave where they were trapped. I guess the young guardian/teacher who took these children into the cave with him was very trusted by the kids and he must be a very capable intelligent leader who made everyone calm to conserve the air as well as their own energy while waiting for rescue in that cave. I will never forget that great rescue operation till I die.

Regarding the couple at the vet... this is why I ultimately made the decision not to become a cop. It is extremely likely that once I arrested that guy, he would trip on the curb and hit his head on the bumper of my car... 6 or 7 times rendering himself unconscious and forcing me to administer aggressive, but ultimately unsuccessful cpr.
