#7: • Bear Charge
In this compilation video, we go over multiple clips that range from bear attacks, encounters and even bluff charges. What makes these ''caught on camera'' moments so scary is the fact that they were filmed in remote areas like a forest, katmai national park or even glacier national park.
We even feature a moment where hunters encounter a huge grizzly bear and need to use their guns to protect themselves. Some of these creepy videos even feature black bears and kodiak bears, which are known to attack people who are out camping, hunting or mountain biking in the wild.
These bear vs man moments are sure to give you the chills and the fact that some people were lucky enough to capture these near death experiences on gopros ou on tape makes it even crazier. Some of these have even gone wrong, but some of the hikers were lucky enough to be carrying bear spray and to have their dogs with them.
Background music by CO.AG Music, Marc v/d Meulen (bandcamp.com) and Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)

I'd camp, but only in a camper and not in a tent. With an axe or gun under my pillow. I live in Germany and there used to be plenty bears and wolves here. The wolves have returned now and established themselves again. But to be honest, I'd rather the bears stay away. A bear will chew its way into your house or even your car if it really is determined to get to that cookie jar. And that's going to get him shot down if the government deems it a "problem bear". We had such a bear in 2006, his name was Bruno. Bruno was not afraid of people for some reason and kept going right up to people's houses killing their livestock/pets. Unfortunately that's what got him killed, as they shot him down.

For real! Your talking about the last guy? I feel the only reason that bear stopped is cause the guy didn't run and the bear probably realized that this guy may be a threat and not food, that few seconds of hesitation from the bear at the end is what saved that dude, like you said if he would've started running, that bear would've eaten him but since he held his ground and didn't show fear, that bear instantly changed his thought process.. Absolutely chilling, just knowing that dude would've been bear food if the bear didn't hesitate

Black bears almost never attack humans. Their diet is 98% vegetarian. They will only attack a human if they feel threatened or if you get too close to a cub. That happened to me. I unintentionally passed too close to a cub and a mother bear chased me. I backed off slowly, but steadlly. After a minute (a long minute) she stopped and went back to the cub. They want your food not you. Grizzlies are a different story.

@@Towelie42O you can look up a list of fatal bear attacks in north america on wikipedia... extremely few and far between when you consider the amount of people that come into contact with bears, some frequently. The problem is that even with shows that make them seem like vicious killers, you still have people like that one moron who was trying to follow the ranger into the woods to actively look for the bear. That's the kind of stuff that ends up with bears being a "vicious killer". You may have been lucky enough to come across mostly docile ones but many others have not. Pretending that they aren't dangerous animals who sometimes attack simply because they feel like it- which they sometimes do- because you think it makes them look bad is irresponsible and kind of ridiculous, since the bears really don't care what we think of them.

Why are people afraid of bears? I've seen enough Disney films to know that, if you encounter a bear in the wild, you just start singing and dancing and eventually the bear will join in. Of course, it helps if there's musical accompaniment. Either a banjo or squeeze box would be fine, but almost anything will do. I ran into a mountain lion on a hike once, and as it charged, I began whistling the guitar solo to "Freebird." It immediately stopped its charge and joined in, banging on the backs of two turtles like they were conga drums. Soon the entire forest transformed into an enormous jam festival, complete with arts and crafts and microbrew tents. I managed to slip out in the chaos.

When I was 13 or 14, my family was camping in the Cascades near Mt Rainier. One afternoon, we went on a ranger-led hike. I was talking to my brother while looking at the ground and suddenly realized that no one was with me. I stopped and looked back. The whole group was standing about 150 feet back. I walked back to ask why they were just standing there. By brother turned me around and pointed at a bear that I had walked past twice. It wasn't very big - maybe 5 or 6 feet tall. It finally went away and we continued our hike. I paid more attention to my surroundings after that.

Do you even know what a hunting dog does? It chases or tracks the prey so you can get a good location and shot. It doesn’t mean the dog go takes the thing down. Yeah there are dogs that will hunt rabbits and quails, but hunting big game, the dog doesn’t actually take the prey down through combat. You actually think this dog will chase down and kill a grizzly? lol

@@iwishiwasthomasshelby that's one kind of hunting dog. Many primitive breeds were/are used to actually kill the prey and even bring it home. Some were also used to deal with dangerous predators, such as bears. The kind of hunting dogs who either just spot the prey for you, or retreive it, those are specialized. Modern, really. I thought it was an Akita but this is the second post about it being an elkhound. You can also look up Karelian Bear Hounds who didn't get their name for nothing, either.

If a bear follows you instead of running way or false charging, they are sizing you up to see if you are food. Black bears will attack humans more than Grizzlies in a predatory form..Bears and mountain lions should always be respected from a distance and always carry pepper spray and a firearm....

About 20 years ago I was in Alaska with my brother in the mountains, I dared him to walk into a forest, he didn’t want to, then I said “Why are you scared” then he said “no of course not” then shouted “I’m not scared of bears!” Then we heard a sound that sounded like a roar coming from a distance, then he screamed and ran away.
