Trailers with retro teardrop designs have amazing history behind them and they have been gaining popularity in the last couple of decades. In today’s video we collected those models that in our opinion have the best designs and versatility.
00:36 #1 EscaPod Topo Series: escapod.us
EscaPod Topo Series is a tiny off-road-capable home on wheels. Its base price is $13,800 and it includes plenty of standard features, such as queen mattress, kitchen with a YETI Tundra 65 cooler, 3-speed fan, LED lights and deep-cycle battery.
1:57 #2 Bean Trailer: beantrailer.com
Bean Trailer is a modern teardrop trailer that as standard sleeps two people and can have a roof tent providing two additional sleeping spaces secured on top.
3:16 #3 Timberleaf Trailers: timberleaftrailers.com
Timberleaf Trailer is a compact but functional camping trailer that serves as a perfect getaway home for a young adventurous couple. It is available in class, all-road, and off-road packages with a starting price of $19,750.
4:36 #4 Gidget Retro Camper: • Set up Gidget in 30 se...
Gidget Teardrop Retro Camper is a very lightweight trailer with a unique patented slide-out feature doubling its interior space.
5:56 #5 Luna Lite inTech RV: • Luna Lite Walk Around
Luna Lite is a less expensive and light-weight version of the inTech RV’s Luna teardrop trailer with a giant front panoramic windshield.
7:16 #6 Alto from Safari Condo: safaricondo.com/en/caravanes-alto
Alto from Safari Condo is unique in its transforming construction. Due to the fact that the roof is raising it lets people stand in the cabin.
8:36 #7 Droplet Trailer: droplet-trailer.com/model-2018
Droplet trailer is super lightweight weighing 950 lbs and it could be towed by medium-sized cars and small SUVs.

Camp Inn is one of the best teardrop manufacturers in the industry....amazing craftsmanship, quality and customer service! Many folks compare them to the same quality as an Airstream. After 5 years ownership of the Camp Inn 560 Ultra model, we still love ours as much as the day we bought it! We haven't found anything else out there we'd rather have for our camping/travel adventures...except maybe a small Airstream someday if we ever get to travel full time & need a bit more space.

It makes me want to pick up a hammer and learn carpentry. The perfect size camper/motorhome for me would be something not more than 20' - 22' from hitch to toe. These little guys fit. I'm surprised the T@G and T@B series should be on this list. Saw the Luna by Intech. Some places sell these close to 20k. That one is nice compared to other teardrops because of that huge front window. Definitely beats the tent. Lol

Must See Tech They start in the $18,000 range for a base model. I opted for all of the extras - bike rack, air conditioning, heat, electric brakes, solar panels, fire extinguisher, etc and paid between $26k-$28k. Bought it last October and took trips to the White Mountains a few times and Lake Champlain. No problems whatsoever, unless you think giving many tours to curious onlookers a problem. People take pictures, lots of looks, and I get approached with questions every time I take it out.

15-30k is way too much for a teardrop. U can buy a transit or nv200 used for 10k and convert it for 5k and it’ll be much bigger than a teardrop. Plus u wouldn’t need to haul it. And they get good mpg

@MustSeeTech
@MustSeeTech 6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your feedback. What's your opinion? Is it too much?
@RicardoRoams
@RicardoRoams 6 жыл бұрын
Yes. I think they are too expensive for what you get. The cheapest is over $10,000 for basically a sleeping box with some electrical hook ups. And remember, you must first buy a tow vehicle. They can range from $70,000 for a new Chevy Tahoe down to around $50,000 for other SUVs. So if you add the cost of the trailer, you're talking some serious money. And for what? There is not much there with these small trailers.
@MustSeeTech
@MustSeeTech 6 жыл бұрын
Trailers are not for everyone indeed.but they do add convenience of just hooking up the thing and hitting the road. Plus some of the models could be towed even by small cars. As for the prices, there is nothing I can do. Manufacturers set up the pricing and I just wanted to share my findings. What setup do you use for camping?
@RicardoRoams
@RicardoRoams 6 жыл бұрын
Must See Tech, What I use for camping is a mini van. it's also my daily driver. I live in a condo complex and must garage my vehicle. Mini vans provide good cargo capacity and fit in any standard garage or parking structure. I simply pull out my rear seats when I go camping. This allows me to put in my cot for sleeping, an ice chest, camp stove, clothes, and misc. items. I even have room for a porta potty. My mini van has a V6 engine which gives me plenty of power for passing on the highway and climbing mountain roads. It also gets good gas mileage for it's size. The only negative is i wish my mini van had more ground clearance. Most of the time it's no problem but there are some limitations on U.S. Forest Service and BLM dirt roads.

His voice is fine. I can't stand the loud, tinny and harsh, crappy music. Every time he stops talking up goes the music. He's not the only one guilty of this. No one tries to find any smooth soothing music. It always has to be like driving an ice pick in your ear.

Where is the Tab@B, Tab@G and Tab@400? Except for the Alto, this list is just a group of posers that have copied the Tab@ products.
@MustSeeTech
@MustSeeTech 6 жыл бұрын
Appreciate the feedback. I do admit, the ball was dropped on this one. Should have featured some T@B trailer. However, I do not agree that other manufacturers copied the design outright. All of these still seem unique to me, after all teardrop is a teardrop, it is the rest of the package that counts
@baileymoto
@baileymoto 4 жыл бұрын
cincycowboypete What do you mean? Teardrop trailers became popular in the 1940’s. T@B had been around for about 10 minutes in comparison. T@B is a copy/their own iteration of teardrops that have been around for many decades.

So many of these manufactures add to many extras and fancy stuff to there teardrop's. Making the price around $20'000 US. A teardrop should be one up from a tent. Not a home away from home. I'm a carpenter/ craftsman. I can Build my own for $ 1,200. That's why company's go bankrupt. You don't need a $800 cook stove. A Colman stove is fine. Electric cooler. Why ? Ice or Dry ice is good enough. Running water ? Just give me a storage tank and a picket. They're all just too over the top.

Honestly you'd be better off building your own in that case. Only really important bits would be an exhaust fan especially if you have an internal gas stove, and I wouldn't skimp on the insulation either. Oh and the battery would need to have an external vent depending on type of battery
