When I was starting my English learning process I used a lot my bilingual dictionary but, after some months of study I changed my bilingual dictionary for my monolingual dictionary and that change was really helpful for my learning...I increased my vocabulary and I was able to create my own sentences using different words. Another very important thing is to use the language, when you use the language you feel how the words come out from your mouth and that is excellent when someone is learning a new language...to see the results of your work. I often change my methods of learning English. But honestly, this doesn't stop me from progressing. A year ago, I only listened to podcasts, watched serials with subtitles, and replenished my vocabulary. Now I completely changed my approach and focused on studying grammar and topics. In a few months, I'm planning to focus on learning English in situations. All this helps me not to get so tired from training and maintain a high level of interest.

This video is crystal clear. When I was in Nepal, I used English all the time without thinking about translating to my language and I watched some movies that can help me out. I learned some interesting differences between British and American English. Even when I got into the United States, I still understood English pretty well. Teacher Gabby, I believe you should write a book called The Art of English Fluency so that it might be the best selling book around the world. Who knows?

2:49 That was the bigger mistake ever I made. I thought when I ended the course I would be speaking english fluently, but english courses don't make sense, I used to study only On Tuesdays and Thurdays and that slowed down my english learning.

There is soooo much misinformation out there! Thank you! I really enjoyed that you mentioned that. I've tried telling friends that the materials they're using or the advice they're following isn't always the best and people can get so emotionally attached to things. I would also add that worrying about how fast you're learning the language can also hold you back. =P Why worry about doing it fast? Let's just worry about doing it well! While we need to have goals and make sure we're working towards them so many people get dismayed by not being able to get there fast enough. I say stop worrying about it and just do it.
