The reason the battle rages on is because people want to believe they can get away with disobeying God without being held accountable. It was the same lie Satan used in the garden. If their desire is for sin, they’ll find words that can be twisted to that end. Paul was a Pharisee until his conversion. As a Pharisee he upheld the works-based laws of righteousness of the Pharisees apart from God’s commandments. THAT is the “law of works” he denounced. THAT is the ever-changing law Christ saved us from. God’s laws stand forever. Christ’s sacrifice cleanses us from our former sins so we can go forth in obedience. Without his sacrifice it wouldn’t matter how righteous we become because the debt of our former selves in our former sins would otherwise remain unpaid. Those who carry God’s name in vain will not be found guiltless. We are to endure temptation to the end by taking the path of escape God promises to always provide to show ourselves worthy. Many are called, few are chosen.

@@MandMe91 t hat was the point Pastor Robert made. Because of our faith, love, & spirit of God we are not under those laws. Jesus sacrificed for all of us including you. That changes everything and with faith, love, and the Holy Spirit we walk with God.

The Book Of James 2:20-25 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect? And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, 'Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.'And he was called the friend of God. You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only. Likewise, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way?

Abraham was given a law which he obeyed and trusted God, by wanting to do that which God asked him to do

Thanks, Take a closer look at Abraham, His obedience was slow and incomplete He also took at least part of his family with him. Keeping a law God gave him was not why God blessed him. it was all about What God said several times. "I Will" look a the passage below. Abraham had a mustard seed of faith and God honored it. “Now the Lord had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”” Genesis 12:1-3 NKJV
