Never understood people who don't see the point in reading. Don't they realise some of the most successful people have been able to synthesise sometimes an entire life's work of lessons, strategies, and tools in two or three hundred pages? And isn't that worth spending an afternoon of your life to learn what it took others sometimes decades to learn?

The other day I asked you on Twitter to recommend a book about making better decisions and you recommended "Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less." Man, that book changed my life. Thank you. Thank you Noah. I just ordered every one of the books you suggested. Two books by the same author which changed my life and kicked me out of the rut I had been in: "The Millionaire Fastlane: Crack the Code to Wealth and Live Rich for a Lifetime!" by MJ DeMarco and "UNSCRIPTED: Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Entrepreneurship" also by MJ DeMarco.

I love how Donald Miller's book is the first on the list as I'm a huge fan of Story Brand and Business Made Simple. But the book on this list I'm going to read first is Million Dollar Consulting. I'm a fan of Jordan Peterson who said in an interview that, "If you can write well and you can speak well, your deadly." The book I'm reading right now with the most impact is The Millionaire Fast Lane by MJ Demarco. I don't usually care for the clickbaity word "millionaire" on books or blog posts or KZbin titles but I'm getting a huge amount of useful content about how to let go of the idea of starting a business from your passion and just go out into the world and solve a problem and scale it. (And your KZbin channel is nailing it! Thanks!)

Nice one Noah, love the poster of Il Pirata! I actually read the Power of Full Engagement and The Ultimate Sales Machine following your recommendations some time ago - both brilliant reads. One thing I have learned through reading, is that whilst I have this itch that freedom from obligations and stresses is what I should strive for, it turns out it's actually these that give me fulfilment and a community to be part of, both of which turn out to be pretty important to me. The Ying and the Yang of life... Anyway, if you're ever in Oxford UK and feel like a bike ride let me know. Keep smashing it, been following your content from years and it's helped me be succeed in many ways.

Great video and suggestions. There are some new ones here I need to add to my reading list. "A Million Miles in a Thousand Years" seems like a really interesting one. For me the most impactful ones probably were: *Total Recall (Arnold Schwarzenegger Biography)* - He came from the small town in Austria and impacted the whole. Some of the biggest lessons from him: 1) Use money to protect your vision. Arnold had a clear goal where he wanted to end up with his career and he didn't want to put himself in the position where he has to take acting roles he doesn't like. So he always made sure that he is working hard on the small side jobs/ventures which gave him a bit of financial freedom and leverage with the negotiations and decisions. 2) Don't overcomplicate. One of the big challenges in life is trying to figure everything out before you make your next move. Arnold deliberately tried to not overcomplicate when starting a new venture because he didn't want to be demotivated by all the challenges. he preferred to figure it out along the way. 3) Learn to market, sell and make deals. Arnold wasn't just a very talented a naturally gifted guy, he was also a great marketer and salesman. He understood that no matter what he does he needs to sell it well and make great deals. As bodybuilder he sold himself with personality and confidence, as a real estate investor he showed he can make profitable deals, as an actor he understood the importance of marketing, promotion and general pre-premiere buildup and he even managed to sell himself as a great potential for a governor. *Ego is the Enemy (Ryan Holiday)* - I am young and still haven't reached success that would test me but this book showed me great examples how ego can sometimes pull you in the wrong direction. Confidence is important as well as saying yes to opportunities but sometimes to get the great things done the optimal position for you to be is to be a sixth man I guess. *Science of Leonardo (Fritjof Capra)* - Great biography of Leonardo Da Vinci which mainly taught me that being curious and casting a wide net when it comes to learning can be a huge competitive advantage. Leonardo is mostly known as an artist and engineer but a lot of people might not know that he was also a great botanist, geologist, he studied anatomy etc. Even though this is a wide range of disciplines he found different ways to combine this knowledge and reach breakthroughs. *Losing my Virginity (Richard Branson)* - Another great Biography. Richard is dyslexic and this was a great challenge for him as a student. But even though he couldn't be a great student he became a great entrepreneur. From running a student magazine, record label through running airlines, spaceflight companies he showed that you can do it all. Aside from his business successes he is also a great adventurer as well as humanitarian. I think that even if you don't like him he is a great inspiration and an example what can happen if you trow yourself at life instead of threading through it slowly and carefully.

Thanks Noah, this was great. You've asked for recommendations, so here are my favorits: Mastery by George Leonard - reading it for fifth time now, it's extremely well written book. Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott - on how to write well and live a great life, tons of useful insights on writing. On the more popular side, I really enjoyed Sapiens, but I guess you don't need an explanation for this one :). Hope this helps someone to decide what to read next, after your awesome list :)
