Swiss Tech really could make more left-handed friendly sheaths, and that Balken could use a larger brother. 3.5-4.5 inches is a good sweet spot on folding knives for me, especially when cutting rope, straps, rubber tubes, wood, and even eating meat.

I wouldn't sleep on these knives. I remember when they carried the Spyderco Persistence, Tenacious and Resilience in the past. I picked up the Resilience and was glad I did. it was $55 - $65 i think, can't remember but I know I bought it because the price was right. Will definetly pick up the Kraftig and Leicht, might even pull the clip off the Leicht and piggy back it on the Kraftig.

The fix blades in this new series are surprisingly good! I carry a Lionsteel fixed blade with M390, but I certainly paid more than anything on this video. However, I would certainly have no problem with the first fixed blade with the D2 steel and bow-drill duvet. For 50 bucks, that is a great deal! I may walk out of Walmart next time with one of those fixed blade options. I really wish the first one came with a non-coded option since D2 is already a stainless steel, the coding just accentuate scratches as we can see in this video.

I have a Stahlern in AUS 8 and love it so far, but have only used her for food prep and light woodwork. I did buy their $11 SAK clone for my keychain but retuned it as the pivot pin for the scissors fell out when I took her out of the box! As long as the QC and heat treat are good, I have no issue with "value" knives like this to get people caught up with prepping/EDC life. I am looking forward to that Haltbar model! Being here in Hawaii, the VG10 will be much appreciated!

That VG10 fixed blade looks nice. Simple and clean design. Wish the sheath had a dangler to it, but i like the removable flap and pocket clip. Will definitely have to check out one in store when they come out. Would make a nice beater or back up when i don't want to use my nicer knives.
@seanmcbride9528

@@D00MTR33 I bet with the removable flap you could fashion your own dangler using those attachment points. I’ve got more knives than I can ever use, but at the price point I think I’ll buy one and test it out.
@D00MTR33
@D00MTR33 Ай бұрын
@@seanmcbride9528 good point. I got plenty of kydex and leather so I'm sure I can come with a way to attach a dangler to it. I wish it was a saber grind instead of a FFG because it's better for wood tasks and stronger. But FFG is a better slicer/cutter. Either way, for $50 it looks like a good choice. I'd prefer 14c28n for toughness, but vg10 with a decent hear treatment (hopefully) should do well too.

So, I work at Walmart and I had seen this Leight in the case just recently and I was very intrigued with it because I just found out that in Los Angeles county that if you carry a fixed blade it must be carried on your belt and the blade cannot be more than 3" in length. So, this looked like it might be an option. So last night I bought it, and I have to say it is cute, but the handle is a little small but I could have dealt with that for $36.00 but... ...the sheath clip is not able to be put on the left side, if I needed to and the knife will NOT hold in the sheath! Now, the knife not holding in the sheath, is a big problem. I am going to hold it until the weekend and take a look at it closer to see if there is some kind of adjustment, tension screw or something, but if not... ...it will get returned and I will have to get an Esee or another blade from Midway or off of Amazon. ☹️

Spend $110 for a KA-BAR Becker BK2 or $40 on the Swiss Tech Kraftig. They are basically the same knife. The BK2 uses carbon steel and comes with Ultramid (plastic) grips. Spend another $50 and you can put on a set of Micatra grips, which brings the price up considerably. The BK2 is easier to sharpen and is a tougher but the D2 steel has better wear resistance. If you are looking to save a bunch, get the Swiss Tech. The steel is comparable, and it comes with Micarta grips.

Id rather see a used knife then a unused one. Im tired of videos telling me buy this its worth it. Then a day later they have a different knife saying the same thing. The only difference is the price. Id rather someone show me why i need it. Under this economy i don't have money to waste. Personally i don't believe any production fixed blade should be over $150. Steel and G10 aren't expensive. But people believe marketing and then want to defend paying so much. Funny how they get offended instead of being mad at the knife companies for overcharging.
