You can use an ordinary saw, be it that lovely large Silky Folding, or just an ordinary woodsaw.

the second last log you cut is by far the best log fire you can make in Australia we use alot great for cooking holds well in the wind rain and although its work to cut out with chainsaw its by far the best log fire thank you for sharing your hard work and professionalism

Wonderful! I just tried #3 and #6, and both worked as shown. We really liked the swedish torch! I found the rocket stove to be difficult to get going, but I'm sure with more practice and better cutting technique on my part it would work better. Thanks a bunch for the video!

With that first fire, youre supposed to put dirt between each log. This prevents embers from falling down and catching the next level prematurely. Love the video, learned a couple things.

I like the all night two and three logs and the rocket stove, pity I would need a chain saw but I bet you could make it with three small logs tied with two strips of wire? great video.

It would take more work of course but you can make all 3 with the folding saw. The chainsaw is to make it easier but if you got the folding saw you'd be set.

At a summer camp someone once taught me a way of making called a “murder pile” and it’s so beautifully simple, you make a pile of twigs, light it then throw in a bunch of logs
