Question from the future: Why did you stop making videos? Especially well explained examples with Darktable have an audience - imo.

Great set of tips. I'll definitely use some of these.

On MacOS Shift-ctrl-C (not alt-ctrl-C) and shift-ctrl-V (not alt-ctrl-V) does the copy-paste with the selection box you mentioned.

Ha.. On linux turns out it's shift-ctrl, not alt-ctrl as the manual says. I'll add a card on the video. Thanks.

Same thing for Windows 10. alt-ctrl-C closes all open windows.

Thanks for this and your other Darktable videos. I am making the switch from Lightroom and your videos have been super helpful. One area where I am struggling is with collections. Coming from Lightroom I do not find the collection management in Darktable to be very intuitive. Would you mind posting a collections for dummies video showing how you use collections to group like things from different shoots? My goal is to be able to store my images by date created but use collections to organize images by genre or project AND editing status.

For my personal workflow I consider a shoot / folder to be a collection so I really haven't explored this. Are you on the darktable unofficial group on Facebook? Great place to ask this question.

Thanks. I will join and ask it there!

I'm on page 7 and going. It's got to be worthwhile. Thanks for the video.

It is Shift+Ctrl+c/v to do a selective copy/paste of the stack

Other useful command is "B" and "ctrl-B". Using these keys you can have the zoom (or zoom with focus) in a sticky mode.

I personally love module list presets and use this as a basic workflow improvement. I've a few of such presets grouped by correction type + 'clear' and 'all' (clear list, basic corrections, exposure corrections, color grading, denoise, D&B, all). All modules are marked as `favorites`, I've also setup shortcuts to switch between those presets (ctrl + 1...7). So when I edit, I basically switch between presets that expose to me modules for particular corrections I want to do in this very moment. I know this sometimes is not optimal because of fixed processing pipeline, but on fairly decent PC it's ok. Btw. many new people doesn't know about bauhaus widgets (right click over slider popup).

How did you setup those up as presets ctrl 1..7?

settings -> shortcuts -> modules -> more modules -> presets (list of all your presets) . However, it seems that you have to go to darkroom first to see presets options.

I didn't know you could do this. Excellent. Just added a second preset list of all denoise related and assigned shortcuts. Good times. Thanks.
