Simon, I'm sure you've had others commenting with fishing advice. But a couple of tips. When lure fishing you are targeting predatory fish. Predatory fish in still waters will conserve energy by hiding in cover and ambushing fish. Fishing very close to any sort of cover i.e. along the edge of reed beds will give you the best chance of a fish taking your lure. Also try imparting some movement to the lure rather than just reeling it back. Try it out in the margins in front of you. Jiggling the rod tip so your lure looks like an injured fish, darting forward then dropping back. It's a really fun way of fishing!

As always, another GREAT episode!! So glad you mentioned the extra time & effort it takes to capture even the simplest scenes for your channel. While we're sitting around on our A$$es enjoying all the beauty you bring us, very few realize how hard you work at bringing winning content. (Not to mention the chore of editing!!) ...Thank you - Thank you - Thank you!!!

Ditto, thanks. And you also essentially mounted 2 entire expeditions because you didn't share a canoe, tent, kitchen, etc. 3 portages adds a long time. In nostalgia for my own canoe trips from decades long past, I think I'm going to make my green tea on a stick stove this week. At least once. Will see where it goes from there :-) Thanks.

I saw a little rapala plug in your little tackle box. Just slow troll that behind you when your paddling. It’s a sure bet around the edges of those lakes. Then you can make time and catch dinner. Just about the time you forget it’s back there till have one on.
