Great video. thanks! I will be in Femunden next week, plan to hike from Elgå to Langen, and then take the boat back to Elgå. Don't have too much experience being outdoors yet, so I will be using the marked paths and stay at or close to huts, but have a tent with me as well. Let's see how that goes. :)

Wow ! Great adventure ! The editing and the choice of music was top notch ! I could feel your pain and misery and I really cant remember you using the F word so frequently in other videos 😂 . The horse flies are really a pain in the a@$# when they come out and start buzzing around you . Maybe the tent needed to have the seams sealed off before the trip . I was wondering why , while you where being soaked inside the tent , you didnt put you puncho tarp over it to protect at least the vent section ? I dont know much about this tent , is this a low budget tent ? Never had this problem with my Marmot tents , in rain or snow . The scenery was beautiful , I hope you still enjoyed it . The terrain was really rugged at times , did you know about the boulder field before hitting the trail ? Lucky you didnt twist an ankle or something . Where you the only one at the cabin , wich was pretty nice btw ? As for your fishing , I didnt notice anything wrong from your part , sometimes the warm weather push the fish deeper where the water is cold , even more if they are trouts . Its been nice to see you back , hope everything is good with you and your wife , or future wife . Take care Jon Oh I forgot , do you know how we call the reindeer here in Québec ? Caribou

Thank you so much Sylvain! And yes, haha, this would probably recieve a more mature rating than some of my other outings😂. The seams on the tent were taped, so I thought it was very strange that it seeped through, although it was indeed a budget tent at 100$. There wasn't much wind either, so very odd that I seemed to come through the vents. Just judging by the video, it's possible the stitching around the vents was done differently, and that the prolonged rain event just saturated it. Definitely still enjoyed the scenery, and the views, despite my many trials! Very rugged terrain, so much so that I went and got a Garmin Inreach device after the trip, so that I'm able to call for help if I need it next time. Slipped on boulders multiple times in areas with no coverage, faaar off trail, and that would have been pretty bad with no such device. When I got to the cabin there were 5-6 other people there. Very nice men and women, who largely had been having just as bad luck as I had with both fishing and rain. I would agree with your point that the fish seems to have been in the cold deep. After the rain, there was waay more activity in the water, I just didn't have the time to stop and enjoy it. Everything is great with me and my wife, we got married in august :) Hope you are well!

That poncho tarp is really nice! Do you leave the guy lines attached? Or do you attach them only when you need it as a tarp? Also, it looks like some areas had enough trees for hammock camping. Do you do that much, or at all?
@Giskeoutdoors
@Giskeoutdoors 6 ай бұрын
I tried leaving them attached, so it would be faster to pitch in a hurry, but it did make it less usable as a poncho. So I think I will have to do some more testing to find a better way to use it. I love hammock camping, it was my go-to when I lived in the more forested eastern norway. Now that I live in the mountainous west, I mostly go for tents or just straight on the ground. There are still trees here, but I would be much more limited in camp site selection with a hammock.

Great Video! Just found your channel and now watching your videos one at a time. May i ask, from which brand is the mosquito jacket? Greetings from Germany :-)

Thank you! Great to hear, hope you enjoy them (maybe the newer ones more so than the older😅). The jacket is by the brand Alaska. I liked it a lot, except that the arms were very short. I'm getting a larger one for this summer.

Hey very cool, have been looking into going here this July/August. What's the situation with cellphone reception? I'm planing to go alone and I'm not sure if I would need to get a Satellite phone. Also any tips regarding maps?
@Giskeoutdoors
@Giskeoutdoors 3 ай бұрын
Thanks! Cell reception is very spotty, but if you can find a hill you might get lucky pretty deep into the park. After the trip I bought a garmin inreach mini, which lets me send messages through my phone as if I had reception and lets me get weather reports and do basic navigation. There are good paper maps, bought mine at the local sporting goods store south of Elgå. Main navigation was through the ut.no app, which lets you download maps and shows your position through your phones gps. There were several points in the trip were I was days away from the trail and moving through fairly rocky terrain. If I broke my leg or hit my head, I doubt I would be able to get help. Absolutely recomend getting some form of emergency communication device, such as an inreach.

@@Giskeoutdoors Thanks a lot of the info. I tend to stay a bit closer to the trail. I reckon having the option to send for help is a bit easy on the mind.

@Giskeoutdoors
@Giskeoutdoors 7 ай бұрын
Hei Lars, takk for gjensynet!

@Giskeoutdoors
@Giskeoutdoors 5 ай бұрын
