There is a show on Hulu called Alone that is this exact premise but with 10 contestants competing to outlast one another. Conditions are obviously much harsher for show purposes but it is a really well done show. I've watched every season; highly recommend.

If only there were no music at all, this would have been infinitely more watchable. It also would have been nice if a professional audio/video person had gone over it and actually bothered adjusting the volume so the speaker isn't whisper quiet sometimes and blaring at other times.

this impressive yes but might I recommend you watch Ed wardles solo survival in the Canadian wilderness. the full documentary is on KZbin I believe or on some streaming services online. this guy surviving on Tofua at least has human contact from time to time, Ed wardle has none whatsoever once he is dropped off in the Canadian wilderness, I hate to say this but its more extreme than this guy, Ed literally loses his mind from 0 human contact and also is in danger from bear attacks pretty much daily. plz check it out its brilliant, I watched it with my uncle when I was about 18 years old, never forget it it's so brave and scary all in one. oh sorry I forgot to mention it is called Ed wardle, alone in the wild.

I actually met Xavier in a bar on the main island of Tonga Nuku'Alofa in August 2008 right before he started his adventure. I remember he told me about it and I was so impressed! It really fueled the adventurer in me as well being at the start of the world trip I was doing with my girlfriend. So nice after more than 10 years to stumble upon this video and to see his achievements on the island. Deep respect! And I enjoyed the film so much! :D

I've read Robinson Crusoe in the past when cellphones were not a thing yet and I can really say that it's a quite similar story. Love the raw storytelling and doing everything all by himself from scratch. Solitude is a blessing and Providence is bliss.
