If you take that road up Marble Creek to Hobo Pass you will find the best huckleberries! I learned to fly fish on Marble Creek, St Maries, N Fork Clearwater, and the St Joe and lived in St Maries and Clarkia, Idaho several different times before moving to Ketchikan Alaska in 1968 with family as an 11 year old! Talk about trout fishing! Thank you dad for taking me to all of those places! RIP❤

My favorite rivers to fish in Idaho is the north Fork of the Clearwater and Kelly Creek. The Saint Joe has become too popular and way way too many people everywhere.

That is one of my favorite rivers in Idaho. I probably did that video about three years ago but I was back there this year in September and I couldn’t believe how crowded it was. Every free campsite along the river was taken and every good fishing pool there was somebody fishing it. That did not make me too happy and it’s getting a little bit too popular.

@@overthehillandoverthemount2925 I went camping at st Joe city up river from St. Mary's, those camp sites are huge and my family rented one, fishing is my favorite on the river there even by marble creek and further up stream

The bear and coyote / wolf sound effects had me cracking up! You should come up with a sound effect when you drink a beer. That 30 ' deep pool looked gorgeous. The entire river looked spectacular with the cliffs. You are in a paradise. Your videos are awesome and keep getting more interesting. Be safe John.

Paul Hoffman Thanks man i’ve been experimenting with different sounds. I have been working on a sound while I’m drinking beer. It is getting cold now starting to head down south.

Hey Glenn that river is beautiful. I went back there this September to fish it and I couldn’t believe how many people were fish in this river. Every pool there was fisherman in it. This River has gotten a little too popular. The north fork of the clear water river and Kelly Creek Is my go to places where the fishing is great and not too many people and I think it is a lot more beautiful than the Saint Joe.

We just left the St Joe. Great time fishing. Go up there every year.
@overthehillandoverthemount29253 жыл бұрын
Glenda Po Did you catch any decent size trout. All the fish I caught were all about 12 inches. I did not catch anything over 14 inches on the Saint Joe.
@gp47083 жыл бұрын
Over the hill and Over the mountain all were in the 10-12" range. Did lose one that was about 16". Fished the 10 mile dirt road section. It seems to have become more popular over the years. Kelly creek this year was really good. Not as many people. Not sure why. Caught some nice 14-16" rainbows and cutthroats. I think it's more accessible . Im getting too old to be scampering up and down steep sections to get to the water. .
@overthehillandoverthemount29253 жыл бұрын
Glenda Po Yep this getting old sucks. I have been fishing a lot of tiny mountain creeks here in Montana. It is a real challenge to walk these creeks and a lot of the time to hike down to them. I keep saying I’m too old for this but I keep on going and doing it, I guess it keeps me young.

I agree with you. I think my first time on the river was about five years ago and there was hardly anybody fishing. I went to fish it in late September last year and I couldn’t even fish it because every hole was filled with fisherman. I will never fish that river again.

Actually it flows in to Coeur d Alene Lake from the Idaho- Montana border. No it is not a tailwater. Free flowing and beautiful with lots of public access in the upper half of the valley.
