@@LifeWellCruised Not a cabin for me. Too many people ‘able’ to hangout /walk by your cabin. Also I have a friend who escaped Cuba, I know too much about the terror he & his family went through to get out. There is no way I could sleep in that ‘theme’. (And before people starting yelling, I am half Hispanic.) I love the Jr suite balcony cabins with Royal, that is our ‘sweet spot’ We are ‘loyal to Royal’. Have had one too many bad cruises with Carnival.

This past summer we were in a Havana Cabana on the Carnival Vista and we loved it! The Havana bar and pool is on the back deck instead of a side deck and we really enjoyed this layout. The deck, pool, hot tub, whirlpool and bar area was never over crowded like the other decks and we were blessed to have wonderful shipmates. Everyone was very friendly and we all seem to have the same mindset as we were glad to have such a relaxing private area away from the partying and commotion. We enjoyed this area so much.

Very cute. I wouldn’t get a balcony cabin on a cruise ship. When I was on a cruise, I didn’t spend any time in the cabin except for sleeping. BUT, I think I would get the Havana cabin. I just love that patio and that separated area. Looks very cozy. There’s something about it.

I have had a Havana inside cabin on the Carnival Horizon. We loved it, and the amenities, pool, hot tub bar etc . That came with it. I would definitely try the Havana balcony.

On the Jubilee, we were in an OS Suite above the Havana Cabana area and our balcony looked right down onto the patio area of the Havana Cabana below. In turn, the Balcony staterooms above us looked down on our balcony. So not a lot of privacy from above either.

Thanks, Ilana. We also prefer the balcony cabin with the couch near the balcony. Thanks to you, we know how to figure this out looking at the Celebrity Edge-class deck plans (the slightly jutted out area in each cabin layout is where the bed it). Unfortunately, many or maybe most of the cruise lines deck plans show only plain boxes for the balcony cabins, so it isn't so easy to figure out which one we want.

My husband loves to sit on the balcony or lean against the rail to watch the water go past. I am hoping he will like it too. On the Vista the pool and bar area is in the aft of the ship and looks to be a lot larger area than the one on the Celebration.

Went on a 100% full Jubilee on the 4th of July. The Havana is the only way my wife will cruise Carnival. Nice and never crowded. I did like the Vista setup better on a previous cruise though. Both are great.

Hubby & I had to laugh when this video popped up, because we watched another video the other day & saw a shot of you sitting on your cabin balcony like this. We were like, what the heck is that? That’s weird. Look at that lattice type railing & it looks like a walkway in front of her balcony? The balcony isn’t just facing the ocean? People can walk by? Huh? 😂🤪 We’re new to cruising and didn’t know balconies could even be like that. Not sure hubby would like it. He loved sitting on our balcony for long periods, enjoying the privacy & view.

Long comment section but it's from someone with having a spouse with mobility issues. We DID like the cabin but some features don't work on the XL ships. Havana areas on the other ships are better. Maybe the upgrades on the Dream class with them? The originals. We used the "stool" for our dirty clothes, because we get free laundry it was great to get our clothes washed before we left since there are no self serve laundry areas. They only had ironing rooms. The balcony seating is a pain because it's so low for those with mobility issues. Our room steward was kind enough to bring my husband a regular chair from somewhere for my husband to enjoy the balcony. We had a forward facing cabin on the Mardi Gras. We didn't have an issue with the smoke from the crew area below us BUT others do. I get that so that's a warning to those that have issues with smoke. The hanging chair you had is an upgrade from the Mardi Gras on the side Havana cabins. THAT my husband could have sat on, I'd just have to hold it because it was hanging so it swung. Thinking of sitting or standing and someone pulls away from you your support. Hope that makes sense.

Hi Ilana….so….my friend and I had a Havana Cabana on Carnival Panorama in March and on the Carnival Firenze a couple of weeks ago…..both cabins were similar in setup with twin beds by the porch…..wish they were set up like yours. There was literally no space for 2 legs between the beds…..had to scootch out sideways. The side nearest the sliding door had about 2 feet of room….. We are scheduled for Celebration Sept. 2025 for Havana Cabana…..they are the best….we really like them…..❤

I can’t remember the ship or cruise line (I think it was Princess) but it was a similar design but the patio area was enclosed. I think I like that a little better because you have something that’s like a sitting room with a TV then the balcony. If one person gets up earlier or even if you have kids it offers a spot to sit & chill but not disturb anyone else & if the weather is nice you still have the balcony. To me it’s the happy medium between the infant balcony on RCL & Celebrity and this.

Ah, it's interesting to see Havana cabins located at the front of Celebration. When I was on Horizon, Havana was at the back of the ship, meaning that the Havana Pool had beautiful views over the Wake at the back. I've only cruised on Horizon and Panorama, but I just assumed that Havana rooms were always at the back!

🙋‍♀️I am sailing on her next week and we are in Havana interior for the first time. I usually get a spa cabin, decided to try something different. Would not mind a cabana/ balcony.... I really think people exaggerate the traffic/ privacy. But I get it. You never know who your neighbor is going to be; everybody vacation differently. But, It would only be other people that have cabanas that's in that area. But everyone is different, research and choose wisely. 🚢

We stayed in Havana balcony room on the Celebration in January 2024 and loved it. We were in room 8277. We knew about the deck and public area right outside our room but did not mind it. Having the Havana bar, a private bar for only Havana guests was great. We only got drinks at the bar twice but the lack of crowds was great. We also stayed in a Havana balcony on the Mardi Gras in September 2024. The room was the same but we did not enjoy the Mardi Gras as much as the Celebration. We are checking out another Celebration cruise but will not do the Mardi do Gras again. On our next Celebration cruise we will probably do a regular balcony as we usually do. We have a spa balcony on the Magic in January 2025 and a junior suite on the Pride in September 2025. We have never stayed in these types of rooms so they should be interesting. Thank you for your review of the Havana room. We would love if you do a review of the Magic (spa balcony) and Junior suite on the Pride if you can.

This setup reminds me of our Laini cabin on HAL Veendam, except there were sliding glass doors that went out directly onto the promenade walk. There were 2 lounges in front of each cabin, but they always had someone using them instead of us. That was an annoyance. Also the exterior of the glass doors were mirrored, so we didn't have to worry about privacy. I wasn't a fan of these types of cabins and will never book anything like them again.

I also like the configuration with the couch and desk near the balcony doors. One time we were 3 in a room and the pullout couch was near the bathroom. It was very inconvenient almost impossible for the people in the King bed to squeeze by to get to the bathroom at night. I don’t know why they don’t have all the cabins with the pullout couch by the balcony doors.

The Havana area on the Vista class ships seems better. There are two hot tubs in addition to the pool. It is in the back of the ship, so it is easy to get sun, no matter the time of day. There did not seem to be much traffic in front of the Havana patio areas, and there were no chairs between the patios and the ocean. The attendants in the Havana area on the Horizon were exceptional.

We stayed in a Havana Cabana Cabin on the Carnival Horizon earlier this year. I have heard that the Vista class ships do it better that the Excel class. The Havana area is located in the back on the Vista class ships with a much more spacious public area. In addition to a pool, we also had two hot tubs as well. We loved it.

These cabins are avalible on the Vista and Panorama . The Havana area is nicer on the Vista class ships. You have a nice pool and two hot tubs. We have stayed in these cabins twice on the Panorama.

I thought the Havana cabins were nicely appointed and I like the color scheme, but I don’t know if I would really like the patio area with everybody out and about and I know my husband would not. You got to spend time on the ship we got to lay tile for two days in one of our bathrooms. Yuck and on top of that we got snow boo-hoo.!!! 😂

My concern would be that if I were to leave my cabin via the balcony and go to the bar that there's nothing stopping people from going into my room.

We did an interior Havana room in September on Mardi Gas. The common Havana area is VERY small and not monitored by anyone so it seemed ANYONE AND EVERYONE was using the area. The interior room was absolutely miserable. The bed took up most of the space so to get in and out of the bed you had to scale the wall. The bathroom is more than tight. The shower was good but literally everything else was so tight. I would not recommended anyone doing a Havana Interior

We priced the Havana Cabana, and the price $$$ was much more than a regular balcony… You said in your post that it was only about $150.00 dollars more… It is actually much, much, more…

I sailed Carnival "VENEZIA". On this ship simmilar cabins, which call Terrazza Cabana-AFT, have same isue. Not very privita, even thoug, it requared hand band to accses the prominad.

I will say that the pool area on XL class is nothing like the pool area on Carnival Vista.
