In the 1800s my great grandparents immigrated from Ireland and England and settled in Buhl Minnesota. My great grandfather had a college degree in mining and became the mining superintendent at the Buhl mine. His name was Robert Murphy. My grandfather (Samuel Thompson a Norwegian immigrant also worked at the Buhl Mine and so did many of my uncles. I was born and raised in California and have live here for sixty-seven years but have been to MN many times and have always loved the state and its people.

I was raised in Poland and there's no sound that I love more than the sound of Wilga engine! It's a nice plane for flying low and slow, but where it excels and really shines is in towing gliders, especially when you need to tow 2-3 of them at the same time or a lot of them in quick succession-as in gliding competitions. Wilga was designed for that purpose-to be a glider towing workhorse. I loved the video- amazing landscapes, great aerial views and technical aspects of it are great too. It just feels very professional. By the way-a "fun fact" for you guys- "Wilga" is pronounced "Vilga" in Polish and it's our name for a bird that is called Eurasian golden oriole in English.

Thank you Zane for the film. Living in the Pacific Northwest now it was SO nice to see Somthing from back home. And of Eveleth on top of it...where I learned to fly! Scud running rivers, private strips and people I accually know and recognize . Even the ore mine I used to work at! As beautiful as it is in this area of the country, watching this made me wish I was back home. What an awesome short film. Thank you.

Great Clint Eastwood voice. That big motor sure is growly. I am partial to Wilgas for looks, but that Cub is a natural for water. Minnesota is impossibly wet to a Utahn.

Very nice video, especially considering one of the stars of the show(N399HY) was my plane until I sold it to Gary. I had flown the Husky on wheels into both Jaranson's and Anderson's on the Fall Color Tour. Good times! Still regret selling that Husky.

Thank you for putting together such a nice short film. A lot goes into the making of something this calibre and I admire your work and the others who helped you. You should be proud of your work! The video put a warm smile on my face as I was glued to all 65 inches of my TV screen. Very nice music which was mixed in at a good level to not distract from the content. I will be sure to check out some of your work when I have more time. For now, I am going back to work on my 1/5 scale Super Cub R/C plane. It has flown well of it's scale tundra tires, but now it is time to finish the install of the float kit. I love RC flying almost as much as flying full scale planes, but cannot get my medical due to problems with spine pain. So watching content like this keeps my mind on flying and always hoping some day I will get cleared to fly again. Best regards, Vince Caruso Palm Harbor, FL

Another awesome video, I really enjoyed it. One doesn't normally associate Minnesota with backcountry flying so it was neat to see that perspective. Your videos are so well polished. I wish mine came close in production values. I actually enjoyed the cockpit footage done with the Osmo. It's hard to put my finger on why, but I think it looks better than cockpit footage done on a conventional camera.

Great film! Just a thought about the Osmo. I think for the flying and ground footage it is great. I really liked the cockpit footage heading into Scott's. It gives it a more real feeling to me. However, for landing and take-offs where there are big jars it would be interesting to see if you can turn down the rates on the Osmo or remove the camera from the Osmo so you get the feel of the bumps. Just an idea, amazing work.

@ 7:39 I thought that upper cowl came unclipped and was separating in the airflow which I imagine would create a serious emergency if just hitting a bird can be catastrophic - but then I realized it's a Wilga design feature, presumably in conjunction with a fixed baffle on the upper part of the radial to force cooling air over the top of and down the back of the engine?
