they say music will make or break a game. 7 days might not be the most polished, or the least buggy, or hell even the most fun. but something that 7 days has that no other survival game does is the level of atmosphere. the game has always had a good sense of atmosphere even back in the early alphas. but the music they added in alpha 18 and 19 really makes the difference. this is a game that you can pick up and play over and over again just to enjoy it. like sitting and watching the sun set. with a friend on a guitar, and a glass of whatever you feel like drinking.

you will think i lost my mind maybe... but when i'm playing and get home at the end of the day, sometimes it's raining, and my forges and campfire are running, the first words I say when I open my door is _"daaang, that was a hard day"_ and this theme is in the background. I feel tremendously comfortable and secure inside my house.

This has some Terran starcraft vibes. I love it. It used to be difficult to take 7 days seriously, most of the stress came from the sheer importance and high stakes nature of the gameplay alone, such as needing to salvage an important few things just before horde night, or being attacked by a wandering horde while you're licking your wounds for one reason or another, or just in general getting caught with your pants down. With the music, this sort of RNG-created, non-dev-tailored experience will only get better and more... somehow immersive.

You'll always remember your first. My friends and I have a long running narrative about rebuilding KFC since the first map I made. The first one was built by the house on the west side of the lake in the Navezgane forest. We started another map that went for over 100 days, but that house will always be KFC Prime.
