Yeah, you just wire them in individually.

I have a similar issue..... I connect my generator bank to a power relay, and from that relay to another..... If I try to connect from relay #2 to anything it disconnects from the generator bank

I know I'm late to the party, but gotta say thanks for the helpful info. I'm just getting to electricity in my game and came looking for some basic info. For future...Just a tip, and not to diminish the great work in the video...When you discovered the distance of the wire, measuring the number of blocks would have been icing on the cake. Now, its no big deal; I can measure it when I start wiring. Congratulation on hitting over 40k....42k at time of posting.

Use switches instead of relays. Switches don't use power, relays use 1W. Might not seem like much, but sometimes every watt counts. You can also use timer relays to turn lights on at night and off during the day. I got a few vids of this. ;)

Hey Capp00, do you know how to move a placed battery bank into a new spot? Wrenching used to work on forges etc. but now I'm not 100% sure. Don't want to try it on my only battery bank and see it gone. I heard some rumours about having to play with land claim blocks, before you can move items. Wonder if that's the case and how it works when playing with friends.

I believe, don't quote me on this, that if you do have a landclaim block placed, you can pick them back up. If not, you can only break them down.

Not really. You can kind of align them so they go behind a wall or underground, since they don't clip, but that's about it.

The batteries to degrade over time, which can be recharged like by hooking up a solar bank to the generator and the batteries will recharge while not being used.

I am trying to hide my wires, by having a block space between basement ceiling and 1st floor its working sofar using relays but then decided to use switch can you not have a wire going from power bank to relay (hidden in ceiling) then the wires from relay to light, as worked with turning each light on individually however with wanting to ust a switch can I not have a wire running from relay to switch, that the wires are already from that relay to the lights. damn guess switch has to be connected to the lights :( I was trying to hide the wires by Power Bank -> Relay (hidden in ceiling) -> to light --- WORKS and wires hidden but when I try Power Bank -> Relay (hidden in ceiling) -> to light and switch only connect to relay (to keep wires hidden) --- DOES NOT WORK so guess power source has to be directly to switch :( this shows the wires

Mmmm I wonder if the electricity system in game is similar to real life. I automatically went solar panel > battery bank > relay > switch. Thinking the sun would charge the batteries. Haha in the journal it says the solar panels power things during the day and battery bank or generator power it at night or all the time depending on how you have it setup.

Yeah, I was hoping you could connect the solar bank to a battery bank and do just that, but apparently not, or I haven't seen it working yet.

They do work like that. Go solar panel to battery bank battery bank to your devices, during day, your devices will run from the solar panels and they will passively recharge your battery bank. When nighttime comes, it will switch over to use the battery bank to power your circuit, and begin draining the batteries. It's just a shame there is not a many in one out device one could use to hook multiple solar banks into a collection of battery banks, and then those banks all into your main power supply line.

Hey Capp, I know this isn't an SCP video but I had an odd thought a minute ago and thought I'd share. Ah! Well, a creepypasta is an internet-published creepy or scary story, the SCP game I'm fairly sure was based on a series of them. As a horror fan I love creepypastas. There are a number of people on youtube who do readings of them. If you're going into it cold I might suggest CreepsMcPasta's reading of the story Road of Recurrence. It's a fairly short one that will give you a taste. Or if you don't mind length, try Anasi's Goatman Story, of which MrCreepyPasta did a very good reading.

I haven't seen that they do. Now, I haven't let them run for days on end to see if they eventually degrade, but in the little bit of testing that I've done, I haven't seen them wear out at all.

All the batteries are rechargeable. They just have to be connected to a power source like a solar bank and not be powering anything to recharge.

No unfortunately, all you can do is put a switch between the generator and the devices to stop the flow of power.

FYI stopping the flow of energy will stop the consumption of fuel. Only downside at that point is the noise.

However, for a video that consists of "Guide" in it's title, there are a lot of mentions of "I am still not sure how it works", "I haven't tested it yet", etc. Was hoping to get some information on those exact topics that you aren't familiar with, either.

I kinda looked it up in another one of your videos... the heat map generation thingy :P ... also couldn't discover the degradation rate of items placed in banks, and (don't laugh please) how to put fuel in generator bank thingy... What I would also add, and this is purely my personal preference for a guide type videos, is some number crouching in regards of power usage and power generation. To put it in simple words, I plan to build a base and I would like to know how many of the turret and light thingies can I power up with, say, 1 average quality bank and maybe compare it with one max quality, or a bank with just 1 part in it... I don't know, something like that?

The problem(s) when it comes to have raw number data for some of these things, is there isn't a way to get those numbers because it is hard coded. I could do massive, lengthy tests and come up with some "ball park" issues, but it would all be a guess. I try to avoid using hard numbers unless I can verify it, because invariably, someone will show up and argue my numbers are wrong (it's happened). To add fuel to the generator, you need to find a gas can, which you can get from gas pumps. It'll hold the gas, then you just click "refuel" in the generator with the gas can in your inventory. And the power outtage for the battery bank doesn't seem to have anything to do with quality of batters, rather just the number of batteries installed. The quality of the batteries will determine how long it takes for the to degrade, but doesn't change output power. Think about the battery in your car. A brand new battery won't output more power than a year old one, it just might not hold as much of a charge as a new one. Keep questions/suggestions coming if you have them :)

Does anybody know how to unlock Electricity Basics in the Skills menu? It appears to be locked with no requirements needed. I can't make the wire tool or relays and speakers without this skill. Any help?

You have to have your Science skill up to a certain level to unlock each level of the Electricity Basics perks.

You can't turn off the generator banks with a switch, but you can put a switch between the bank and the object getting power, so it kills the connection.

Thanks for your answer. I knew it's possible to turn off a consumer. Unfortunately, the generator stays on even if the consumer is switched off, so the generator will still make noise, attract zombies and burns gas. The only possible way for me then is to build the generator deep inside my house and connect the outside traps through relays. Not as nice as a remote switch for the generator, but a possible way - thanks again :)
