Just to note, putting points into advanced engineering also gives you experience from trap kills. So if you are using trap heavy bases you may want to spec into it.

horde base tip: don't build doors; build 2 hatches. doors and hatches have the same hit points, so placing 2 hatches in the same space effectively doubles the HP of your weakest spot

re #34: If you've built a raised floor into your structure, be aware that the zombie pathing will drive them to attack the higher block before the ground level one, so it's more important to upgrade the higher block first rather than the lower one. Knife Animation Canceling: when harvesting with knives, first attack the air, then bring the knife down to the animal mid-animation. the attack animation will finish quickly, and then a second harvesting animation will start, giving you two harvests in a very short time. rinse and repeat for maximum gains :D

Clear a POI and remove any stairs to the roof. Live up there until you have enough resources to make a horde base then move into your newly built base 🙂

Over 2000+ hours player here and I learnt some new things! I didnt know about the intellect trader perk with glasses I didnt know about leaving one rock in something 50 blocks within your bedroll to make it respawn I forgot about the floating block/plate I didnt think of spawning the screamers early game but i did know about the heat sensing I did not know about the oil / iron designated biomes

Good vid brother man!! What I've learned as well... lol If ya build a base.. don't use doors.. make two hatches on the floor opening towards each other upgrade them.. standard two block high doorway.. place a plate advanced rotation above the hatches in the doorway.. keeps dogs crawlers and spiders from getting over.. unlike the door you can smack them... This works as well for ya mining.. ya hear one come run up, kill and go back to mining lol I use hatches in a point, gives me a bolt hole option I find leather hard to get early game as well.. don't raid houses, find the fast food places... Smash a window, look inside if ya see the solid brown single couch section,... Leather for days.. snag every ground gore pile, bones.. bones get ya glue.. that get ya duct tape Getting better barter to level 3, gets ya low level augurs early game :)

I usually do each level on day four once I have a few levels.. check the stash, drop a point for level one.. check the stash, then two check again, then three check... Etc lol

After playing 7d2d for almost 2800h, some tips are even new to me (9, 15, 19, 20). The hatches are great for blocking doors or even building small "bridges" as Zeds cannot jump over 2 blocks. These bridges also interrupt the zombies' path finding, they simply overlook this path. In the later game, I use electric hatches to manipulate the zombies' pathfinding and prevent them from going into damaged areas. With floating design support columns, only a few zombie types attack the upper blocks. The smaller ones just run through under it.

@@PriMate Yes. Since one year i play only on max. difficulty with max. Zeds. So i had to build a strong, reliable and easy to maintain horde night base. I built a base with four "wings" aka small death corridors with no cheese mechanics, just brute force. Each corridor had 40 dart traps, 2 blade traps and some electrical fences. I can repair mostly from my safe position. But if more than 3 demolisher exploded, i pull the switch, a trapdoor closes and this part of the base is safe and i gain some time to repair the damage. The Zeds are "intelligent" enough to find another path. After repairing, i open this corridor again. Max. gamestage was 541 so far.

I feel like I shouldn't share this, but in PVP I always hide my crates behind armoured vault hatches. And I leave false hatches lying around as decoys to occupy and deter raiders. I also make use of false floors, sub basements, and paint to hide ladders and supply creates, making them look like regular floor ceiling and wall tiles.

If you want to skin an animal fast by skipping the animation for "skinning" it while still getting the stuff from it, just look away at a block and as it stabs quickly look back at the animal

What do you mean by trader missions Brod? We all do them, let me know what you mean and I'll see if I can help?

@@PriMate : Well missions given by the traders, but more so I mean solo players. Multiplayer someone always has your back. Solo one has to sometimes be creative especially in harder difficulties to succeed. I can easily consume an in game day or two clearing out an entire building never mind finding the delivery*. *Surprisingly hard to find sometimes. Last one was hidden well in the factory in a place the lighting hid the "I'm here" text.

I play solo also, and yeah agreed, tier 5 missions are very long and take some time to complete. But by the time you tier 5 you are usually very well set up with guns and ammo. Most quests take me between like 1-5 minutes IRL. Later game tier 5 missions more like 30 mins IRL. But I just go in guns blazing 😂 I usually play survivalist. I've only played multiplayer a handful of times.

Only thing to note on buying the perks for electrics, or anything that you unlock in perk tree to then build, it cost less (to build) if you spend the perk points on it, but then again you have to spend lots of perk points some times to get to the items you want. Great video still learned a lot like leaving snow in a chest over time turning it into murky water, didn't know it would do it on its own. Thanks!

I just started playing on a seed not the default map. If the seed came out on alpha 17 or 18 would it not have the new POIs from alpha 19? should i instead look for a seed that came out in alpha 19 or does it not matter?

There are lots of new "dungeons" created for Alpha 19 so would 100% make a new map, or use a pregen map (either 1, 2 or 3) which has been made for alpha 19. Anything made in 17 or 18 will be too outdated and won't allow you to have the full experience 🙂

Not in vanilla mate, just make a "farm plot" and plant a seed. Will regrow continuously if you harvest and leave the seed in the plot 👍

Funny thing about mushrooms, they don’t need light and can literally grow anywhere. You don’t need farm plots for them. I usually plant them on the ceiling of whatever room I’m using as base.

I think you get more for smelting the Duke, that is a great question and ill do some testing. But yeah I believe you get more brass from dukes. And yes indeed, they do not stand still lol I linked a video in a card at that point. I have two bases videos which work REALLY well against demo zombies using this method 😜easy to make bases which use this idea of pipe bombs 👍

Another beginner tip is the ol's frame in the doorway trick to allow melee action and prevent getting swarmed or cornered - if you are being pursued by zombies or a tough one shows up and you are low level (biker, lumberjack...) run through a door, close the door, and drop a frame in front of the door. Then you can quickly open the door, smack the zombies around a couple of times, then close the door and the frame keeps them from pushing through into your room (they will damage and destroy the frame if you aren't careful or quick enough though)

Lot of good stuff here! But another little tip I have found oil shale in all areas around what looks like a big chemical container under construction. You will find about 3 on surface around them and sometimes it will say "there's more underground" but I am playing Alpha 20

Please make another video! I only have approx 60 hours on this game but I play nothing but insane nightmare speed no loot respawn solo or with one buddy... All of these tips are game-changing!! That one tip regarding floating blocks... I'd love to see a bit more on how that could be utilized. I saw one video where the guy actually had a floating base and then dug a pit around his base and the horde couldn't even get to hit base... I'd love to learn how to do that. You can find Oil Shale in other biomes now as part of a structure! There's an oil deposit if you dig down in the middle of an oil storage building

dig 2 down make a square raised in the center of 3x3 placing burning barrels in the center and put spikes in the trench around. Good way to farm items from dead zombies. Make sure you have a place to stand in the center and a safe area to run in case.

Really cool idea for a survival series. No schematics only perks series. You play as normal but any schematic you find has to be sold. You have to buy or loot everything from the world. However skill books and what they give you is fine.
