Okay, guys, confession time! I think this episode could have been about me. My goodness, I had so many clothes at one time that the rod in my closet broke - twice. Yikes!!! That was a wake-up call that I was being gluttonous. Once I found this Divine Mercy channel and heard Fr Chris’ teachings, I realized my focus was clearly on the wrong thing. I made some serious lifestyle changes and now don’t set foot in a clothing store unless I really NEED something (which is pretty much never). The time I spent shopping is now replaced with studying scripture, reading The Catechism and, of course, listening to this Divine Mercy channel. Thank you, Fr Chris, for helping me turn my life around and for teaching me to focus on what’s really important - a life filled with joy in loving God and preparing myself for what I hope will be someday be my Heavenly Home. 😇

I never imagined that gluttony encompassed more than eating and drinking. If gluttony is combined with any of the other deadly sins, it would be very dangerous. That was my takeaway from this episode. Lord please teach me the virtue of temperance. It was wonderful to see you Father Chris with another great LION of our faith, Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone. ( What a name he has, “Savior with the heart of a lion”). Clergy like both of you who boldly support life and personal freedom to express our Catholicism inspire us to have the courage to stay in the fight alongside you. May God bless and protect you both.

I'm finding, ironically, that detachment from the world actually brings about appreciation for the world. Over eating it’s always compensating for something that has missed in your life. It is a void that over eating helps for Phil. But we know it’s wrong. We fill our bodies with food because we’re missing being loved, being paid attention to. We are destroying the bodies that God gave us. we need help to get over this. Sometimes we don’t know where to go. We are rejected because of how we look with the weight. We are bullying people don’t wanna have anything to do with us. So we just sit comfort in food until we totally destroy Ourselves

I've had love for food, beer, weed, a bit of lust and a lot of sneakers!! I've spent THOUSANDS of dollars on the "jumpman" brand at first because I'm a life long fan of MJ and basketball in general, but, later, it became an obsession, a nasty thirst for more and more, to the point of even showing off and presuming. The hype was terrible on my heart. I can't explain how, but, The Lord has His Own way to get to Us and He did.... and IN MY CASE, it was through Father Chris' KZbin videos!!! I understood the true meaning of humility, holiness, then, was able to deal with all of these nasty vices with A LOT of prayer. PRAY THE ROSARY, PRAY THE DIVINE MERCY CHAPLET!! You will overcome ANY vice, believe it!! God will get to You, and straighten You up with His Unequal Love, through The Holy Spirit. Only then You will truly be free. Father Chris. I have read the book on Maria Summa "Get Us Out of Hear". The discussion on The divine substance on tongue while kneeling compared to in hand while standing. I would like to hear your thoughts on this. I receive in my hand while standing. I have to no choice in the matter. To me kneeling rails and on the tongue would be the only correct way to receive. It bothers me to think the body of Christ is contaminated because it is not delivered by the hand of the priest. I do not go to a lay person to receive and that was a family member at one time.

It’s a modern day addiction based on chemically treated processed garbage. Maybe in ancient times before “food grooming” I can see gluttony as sin. Take a look at my 600 pound life; this modern day issue would’ve never happened during ancient time periods. I don’t support overindulgence in food, I’m just saying there’s a huge difference between then and now. It’s still a sin but peoples brains are being chemically altered toward addiction to food.🤷🏻♀️
