I will take anything that will make type 1 easier. The 7 day tubing is awsome. I use the meditronic pump 780 made things alot easier to get through day.

Excited for Tandem updates. Really looking forward to any news on Tslim x3, or Libre 3 integration. Thanks for the updates.
@Nerdabetic14 күн бұрын
Tandem is going well! X3 has been pretty quiet…. we know it will be usb c with some design improvements. Libre integration is already out in some regions with Libre 2 Plus.

@@Nerdabetic I also saw they completed the 7 day infusion set trial on Clinical Trials gov. Can't wait.

Infusion sets are a funny one. The same company called ConvaTec makes the infusion sets for Tandem and Medtronic ( and a bunch of other companies!). They already launched their 7 day set for Medtronic with some unique features for Medtronic. I actually interviewed their CEO few years back. How important is the 7 day set to you? It is because of cost? Convenience?

There have been many times the cgm loses connection with the pump and times that it is inaccurate. How would the closed loop be reliable for those cases. The groups I follow online and myself have that as a very common complaint. There are around 50 things that affect blood sugars that we know of. It seems impossible to have a hands off system that works well. I soooooooo hope I am completely wrong.
@Nerdabetic15 күн бұрын
Which CGM are you referring to?
@jrosa6914 күн бұрын
The CGM from Medtronic (Guardian 4) is the utmost crap (I am a user of Medtronic 780G and Guardian 4).

Thank you - great Video! When will Roches SmartGuard CGM launched in Germany - you mentioned a delay. Is it not ready for market?

I really don't know how a completely closed-loop system would keep blood sugars in range as well as the hybrid closed loop, specifically because insulin is slow to react. If a completely closed loop system notices a rise in blood sugar, it may automatically give insulin to combat the rise, but that is sort of like people giving themselves insulin for a meal after they have eaten a meal instead of like a recommended pre-bolus. Smart insulin is something that needs to be worked on.

Any info on g7 with omnipod on iOS? Can’t do auto mode currently and it’s frustrating! Love your channel

Great stuff! Is Loop falling behind or is it still a good system? We used to use OpenAPS but liked the simplicity of Loop but they haven't updated much lately. Also can you do a video on the Sana Biotech news?
@Nerdabetic14 күн бұрын
I’m using Loop for iOS and have been since 2018 or so. The other systems have more features but I see Loops simplicity as a key feature. Not sure on Sana BioTech- what exactly do you have in mind?

Hi Camil - very interesting video summary. Am I interested in any aspect of AI in my Diabetes Management - absolutely not.
@Nerdabetic13 күн бұрын
Thank you! That’s very interesting, mind me asking why you not interested in AI in diabetes management?
@LairdMorris13 күн бұрын
@Nerdabetic - I don't use a pump - and I don't want to use a pump. I've lived with diabetes for nearly 50 years and I am capable of using my own Actual Intelligence. I hate the amount of waste and energy used just to stay alive with this awful disease - when I was diagnosed there were no pumps, CGMs or even glucose meters, I used glass syringes stored in surgical spirits and large (blunt) needles - the greatest leaps forward in my life have been the tiny needles I can now use and a reliable glucose meter (the first meter I bought was the ExacTech pen which has since been developed into the Ascensia Contour next ONE - yes I've stuck with the same system for over 35 years!) I've kept informed regarding new technology (I'm currently giving the Freestyle Libre 2 Plus a try out) but as I have no complications and I'm capable of looking after myself, why would I want to learn a whole new system of management?
