Great videos, most comprehensive I have found to date. When you do your videos and talk about buttons on the controller, do show a closer look as to which position you are moving them from and to, so we can understand when looking at your videos. Else you are very explicite and probably the best to date videos I have found on the net!!! Congrats

Dude you rule, thank you I have watched lots of tutorials on this but non of them told me to actually go and turn on the soft were, when ever I did what they had said to do my phantom would continue flying backwards away from me. Now that I have unlocked the function I'm going to go give it another test.

Hi Tom, great videos, they have really helped me as a newbie. I have a couple of questions if you don't mind? If you manually set a new home point when in the air, will this stop the Phantom from returning to your location in a failsafe or a battery low situation? Could be a bit dangerous if that is the case? How are home lock and course lock modes affected by having Dynamic Home point turned on? Will the drone potentially follow you as you walk around so if you walk with the controller in you hand the Phantom will change course as you walk as the home point is moving? Or is the manually set home point different to the dynamic home point? Hope my questions are clear!

Thanks keep up the good work.

Great videos Tom. Your tutorials really make things simple and have helped me a great deal with getting to grips with the Phantom. If I manually change the home point while in flight as mentioned in your video and the remote is then turned off will the Phantom return to the new home point or to the original starting point if failsafe kicks in?

Hi Tom, The home lock facility, Does it work still if, Lets say i walked an 100 mtrs away from where i started the drone from whilst the drone was still flying in the air. now bearing in mind we have moved 100mtrs from where the drone originaly set off from....would the drone still come back to where you were when locked into home lock mode...??????. I suppose what i am really saying in short is, does the drone recognise the rc controller has home where ever the rc controller as moved....I hope you can follow this tom, it has puzzled me a bit ...A reply would be most welcome, Thankyou.....Oh Nearly forgot to say.......GREAT TUTORIALS

Thank you Philippe. Today it was working it was all Green. So I guess it all depends of the days and what satellites are around. Excellent video. Thx a lot. One quick question: if we set a new home point, and then for some reason Fail Safe is activated, will it go to that new place? (as opposed to the place where it originally lifted up)
@GranVlog10 жыл бұрын
The place you gather the sats is where your homepoint will be set. landing somewhere else and then flying back up without turning the battery off and on again will not change it. hope that helps. :)

Hey Tom, you talk about the position of the home lock and course lock switch in this video... but where is the other switches position? is it off or GPSor...?
@iflyhelis9 жыл бұрын
Well Tom, I liked your video so much that I subscribed to your channel. Very well done & informative I will say!For the last year or so, I have been thinking of buying one, but was not sure which model is the correct one for me. My last purchase was a "Walkera D450 V2 helicopter" with 6-axis gyro control" but no GPS controller. I had so many problems with that unit that it got sent back to Hong Kong for repairs. Got it back, fixed & then the transmitter burned up & the helicopter came down safely in fail-safe mode, without damage.Got a new transmitter under warranty, lift off & the ball link came off of a rotor blade & it destroyed itself in about 15 seconds.I have flown RC planes/RC Helicopters Gas & Nitro with swash-bar paddles with only a heading hold tail gyro & never had these problems before.So! What is the best model to buy? The price is high for the Phantom 3 models, a Phantom 2+ seems to be cheaper!Please give me a clue...

Great job with explaining CL and HL! What video software do you use to make your videos. I love your introduction clip! (The drone with flag) What did you use to make it? Thanks so much, Lou
@mikkoaslaklemmetti9 жыл бұрын
Hi! If you lose visual contact with the chopper and activate HL / pull back the stick to make the chopper come back home, how does the chopper avoid any obstacles on its way back? Will it fly high enough to miss the trees etc. before it's back in your visual range? For example, if you are on a clearing with trees surrounding you at all directions, you launch the chopper, fly it up and away behind the trees. And you don't know the actual height of the chopper when it's out there somewhere, is there a way to make sure it doesn't crash into the woods? Regards, Mikko from Finland

I enjoyed your tutorial but I have a question. I just bought landing gear for my Phantom 2 which requires to be connected to an unused channel. Do you have a video about attaching extra devices that an unused channel? Thanx

Hi Tom, great video; when you (have to) use the "Homelock mode", and the Phantom flies back to its homeposition, does it stay there at a certain hight when it reaches the homeposition??
@TomsTechTime9 жыл бұрын
Theo van Reijsen Home lock is not RTH (return to home). The copter flies towards the home point as long as you hold the stick back. When you release it, the copter hovers just as normally. Did that help? Stay tuned and fly safe!

Tom's Tech Time Tom. I love your tutorials, thanks. I have a question. On Home Lock. I get it switches to course lock about 15 feet or so away and will go backwards in the couse set at start up. Will it continue to fly away from you if the stick is held in the back position or will it go back into Home Lock when outside the circle. Not sure what it would do in that case. Thanks

Tom's Tech Time what happen with the RTH .. if we set the home point in an interesting point while flying.. it is also change to new home point or remain in first home point? hope you understand my bad english. thanks

Hey Tom's Tech Time ! Nice video dude! Well when you activate homelock automaticaly the drone understands that if you hold the right for ex. that you want to fly a curve? So..after the 5-10 meters you can activate the homelock and fly a curve >>??
