I loved Doug Flutie. When he was in the game you always felt like you had a chance to win. He could be having the worst game ever but you still always felt like he could take it for two drives at the end and score. His biggest trait wasn't any one of his skills...it was his ability to win. And I'd rather watch Flutie at the reigns trying to win....and maybe lose rather than watch Robosack get some wins knowing he wasn't going to ever win the big one and be frustrated watching him try.

Our owner and our management at the time didn't realize it! The FANS knew that Doug Flutie was the right quarterback! I grew up eating Flutie Flakes and I vividly remember my family and the whole city freaking out when the coach announced he was playing Rob over Flutie that game! To this day its considered by fans to be one of the worst if not the worst decision in Buffalo Sports history!

The Bills did Flutie so wrong in 1999. Yes, he was a bit old by NFL standards and he was on the smaller side, but why should that matter when the guy made up for it by playing his ass off and winning games for the Bills? Flutie had heart and enough talent to get results in the NFL. In 1998, he wins 7 of 10 starts and is the main reason why they get into the playoffs, and he was arguably the main reason why they were 10-5 in 1999 before getting benched in favor of an overpaid statue who must have had a bizarre fetish for getting sacked. I don’t even really care about the Bills and I still get irritated by that decision to go with Rob Johnson in the postseason. If Flutie is playing that game, I think the Bills not only win but it might have even been them who are the AFC representative in the Super Bowl instead of the Titans. I’m not saying they would have beat the Rams, but it’s the NFL, who knows what would have happened.
