The "Press Start" screen in Ratchet And Clank 2 for the PS2 has a secret that you have to wait for. In the background, you see Ratchet and Clank playing a console, with footage either taken from the game itself or the original Ratchet & Clank game, changing periodically. However, if you wait long enough (specifically every 4th change), the footage on the screen will change to that of Jak & Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, Jak II or Sly Cooper and the Thieveius Raccoonus.

That´s interesting to hear and explains a lot. It is as commonly known as other fairy tales like Snowwhite here in Germany. There is even a "modern" (1997) cartoon movie adaptation called "die furchtlosen Vier (the fearless four)" that builds up on this setting in a more modern and dystopian but still childfriendly manner.

@@gaming_with_neon It's interesting to see what folktales resonate with different nations. "The Honest Woodsman" is also another one that's popular in Japan that I had never heard of until I saw it referenced in a Japanese game. There's probably a cultural reason at play I'd say.

I never knew it was well-known in Japan, but it makes a lot of sense if you think about the respect and admeration they have for Germany. But honestly, I couldn't think of a more suitable country than Japan telling their kids about 4 mistreated farm animals.

As for the Octopus in Gang Beasts, it sort of... detects aggression if you will? I watched a video at the time of the Aquarium map's release and the two remaining people (out of four) tried to hide themselves from the Octopus for a few minutes, and it seemed to calm down or rather, didn't try to reach for them as much as it was before. However as soon as they restarted their fighting, the Octopus used nearly all its arms at once to try and grab them. Mind you, this is only speculation based on observation from a video that is now a few years old, but still... I figured I'd share it anyway. 5:53 Being from Western Europe I think I had an advantage. I immediately got it: "Die Bremer Stadtmusikanten" as the Germans call it. I listened to a lot of radio plays as a child and had many CDs with European folk tales, including this one.

Come for the female fanservice, actually stay for the unique plots, the witty banter between the protagonists and the people they encounter, and surprisingly good visuals for an old manga/anime.

The one easter egg or whatever it's called in Stellar Blade where if you look at eve long enough she'll look at you (the player). I think this was most likely inspired by an episode from Stargate SG1 where one of the main characters seems like he's lost his mind and when he called her bluff she finally looked at him

Well, if in Combat Zone mode, when your character is about to just out of the helicopter, if you zoom out with your scroll wheel as far out as possible and pan your camera as far to the right as possible you will see a really cool retro-arcade styled picture on the side of the helicopter saying "S2" press start and all the characters on it, possible also some references idk i didnt look

Don't know if this is in other games or has been covered. But in Crysis 2 + 3, possibly 1 as well. If you reload a gun that uses bullets when the mag isn't empty, the gun will have a full mag plus one in the chamber. This is also reflected in the ammo indicator.
