The village I found in my game is partially up on a tall mesa, from which villagers and animals keep falling and injuring themselves. I've been converting it to be OSHA-compliant with plenty of low-rise staircases, and safety rails around all ledges.

I like how Minecraft gradually turns into a strategy once you find a beautiful village and decide to settle in it. We need an even more in-depth system for interacting with villagers like quests, random situations, and the like. Well, and most importantly, a refresher course for the villagers so that they FINALLY learn how to avoid obstacles correctly, do not run into walls and do not use the roofs of houses instead of paths. Villages in Minecraft have always been something special for me, and I was immensely happy when update 1.14 came out, but I think that the developers have not yet implemented even half of the functionality that can be built around villages, they deserve more attention :)

I actually added a Nether portal near my village then added 2 iron golems that are named as “Guards” then kind off added a security wall around it and added a sign that says “Danger! NO VILLAGERS ALLOWED” I also added a huge castle that took alot of time to build especially with it’s details.

YESS! You’ve got it! Once you lock in their trade (by trading just once), you can remove their workstation and place it somewhere else. As long as the workstation doesn’t get/isn’t locked onto by another Villager, they will use it 😄

The trickiest villages are those that spawn on hills, my current frequented village, which I call Mizit, is on a hill, very tricky to fortify and expand, I have to work around all the cliffs and the natural sandstone tunnels in the village. I'm also building a railway there so there's less risk of those damn husks slaughtering the villagers while I'm in the village's reality bubble.

YES! Yes yes yes 100x - I actually made this video before the 1.18 World Generation switch; I’m finding villages on cliffsides like CRAZY! They’re super fun to plan out, but definitely a bit trickier. I’m thinking I’ll finalize a follow-up video to this one with the 1.20 update!

Can you go over actually defending a village from all sides? I'm new to MC and I spawned in near a village. I have watched youtube so knew it was a nice place to set a house. So I made a house there, and then began exploring. However I found out that in all 3 sides there were pillager outposts (village is on a peninsula). I want to protect my village from raids and mobs, and I think that fortifying and turning it into a fort would be the best way. Can you make a video on this?

Wish they had these bigger denser towns to explore like they have different cave sizes. Some small villages like caves that quickly dead end. And some towns so large you get lost in. Guess they'll have to stop doing the filler updates that add things that don't change anything (cough new goals rather than just more steps to kill ender dragon please)

What the this video fails to mention, is what to do when you encounter a village. Bringing stacks and stacks for a wall isn't going to work on the first encounter (you won't have enough time to stop the raid). What works was what was suggested on Reddit: USE TWO BLOCKS (JUST TWO BLOCKS) TO BLOCK UP THE DOORS OF AT LEAST TWO OCCUPIED VILLAGER HOUSES. THAT WAY, YOU WILL STILL HAVE VILLAGERS LEFT ALIVE AFTER A RAID.

About lighting - don't forget the rooftops. Unless they are lower-half slabs, you may want to put a torch on the roof. It sucks when a Creeper spawns on a house and then literally gets the drop on you...

Ik you probably don't listen to ideas BUT if you want you can listen to the idea, Show how to make a destroyed village like a successful raid killed almost everybody, and a few people are alive (with the village you made it make work good with it so you should make a back up of said world and make one the destroyed/raided village)

I straight up build the village from the bedrock up. Mineshafts , housing , recreational areas , safe rooms (bcs i play with lunar events mod which brings deadly bloodmoon) , paths , terrain and rest of the village related things , are built by hand solo and I love it. I also like to put 5 beacons around a big well with 1 in the middle and 4 around in square shape as a waypoint AND for the effects. NEVER have I thought of building walls around my villages.

After I am done automating my world completely, I will start by destroying the village completely, then level the land, then I'll add a giant fountain which @Spudetti made (ofc it's the centre of attraction) then convert it to a city with every possible vllager in it. what i do is use villager spawn eggs and fill them all over the place which makes the village so crowded and then i make a very large building which has 100+ beds so it can fit the whole population I also make the pathways using deorite slab.Is there anything wrong with what I do ?
