Fully agree with Pascal. I live in a state (US) that is slightly > 2(UK+Ireland), but is 90%+ privately owned, making access very difficult. Thanks and keep up the outstanding work Nigel.

I'm in Scotland, and I agree UK has great areas to shoot. Quite a lot of scenes that have that "age" factor. Then again, I've also found that almost everywhere there is something unique and interesting, and quite often we just are so used to it that it doesn't quite feel that way.
@pascalhibon7928

@@nillarafael3883 Yes I know what you mean. I live in Belgium and due to high density of population, there is almost no real nature left. The nature reserves are so tiny that when shooting these you need to be careful excluding the "human world". The only part of Belgium which has a bit of nature interest resides in the south. But even there the landscape photographic possibilities are rather limited. Believe me, due to covid I have tried my best. The UK (and also Scotland) have vast parts of natural beauty left.
@nillarafael3883

@@pascalhibon7928 Ah, yes. Belgium really is incredibly densely populated. I fully understand what you mean. The nature here in Scotland is amazing, and basically we have natural parks almost in the city! So yes, you are absolutely right. I suppose Belgium would then work best for people and street photography, but obviously that is not the same. Perhaps we'll one day be done with this pandemic and you'll be able to visit the neighbouring areas! All the best Pascal, stay well.

@@pascalhibon7928 The UK is not exactly a perfect example for nature. Isn’t it not like that the UK is nearly deforested? As much as I love Scotland, it’s a tragedy that reforestation is progressing at such a slow pace? How much more beautiful could it be with more forests?

Thanks for the useful advices @Nigel Danson! I think checking the weather forecast in combination with the current season more in detail helps a lot too. Understand wind, fog, snow, rain, sunlight directions, thunderstorms.....and to , even this might sound quite obvious but to actually go to places which are interesting or dramatic from a landscape point of view , mountains with the sea or lakes are usually a great combo if you are not obliged to shoot in a certain area. Canyons, deserts, specific forests, specific rock formations will increase the fun and results of landscape photography massively!

Another excellent video there Nigel - educational and inspirational. Your point about light is not lost on me, light and how it plays with all of the components is why I am out there and it ties in with a point you made in a previous video about observation. Light can change rapidly in this country and with those changes brings a completely different scene and emotion.
