Great review. Love your energy. I am focused on learning Chinese so I tried the popular ones like Duolingo, Chinese Skill, HSK Chinese, and Super Chinese. After testing them for a week, I settled on the Super Chinese. I love how comprehensive it is with audio, written, vocab, grammar, and AI driven teaching. They also offer tutors. I do about 15 minutes per day and have progressed from zero to HSK level 1. I'm almost done with HSK 1 and getting ready to progress to Level 2!

I love italki, it´s really good app for studying languages. I need to practice my Spanish and there are a lot of native speakers. You can find cheaper tutor than in some language schools so I truly recommend this app. I have to say your English is really good, I would like to hear you to speak Czech to bealive you are Czech :D :D

I speak English only fluently (omg I feel terrible-) but I'm learning Korean, since I am Korean, but I was born in America and both my parents are very good in English so :/ I'm also learning Spanish and Japanese right now, but my Korean is FAR better than my Spanish. And then my Spanish is quite better than Japanese lol. I can have a long conversation in Korean. Maybe not grammatically correct 100% of the time, but I can talk quite a lot. Spanish I can hold a short conversation, but not long. Japanese I can barely say anything lol. However Japanese does have Hiragana, Katakana and Kanji (I am dreading it lol), so I'm still memorizing the characters. I plan to learn French, Vietnamese, Mandarin Chinese, Irish, Greek, and/or Arabic in the future!

I've been on Duolingo for almost 3 years at least 15-30min a day for Spanish, but when I tried to speak with a native on Tandem(just today), it's still difficult. I think that the best language learning approach is to talk with someone who can speak the language. 🙂 (Just my opinion)

This is all in order of what languages I speak. Japanese, English, Russian, German, Arabic, and Irish. I'm learning Spanish, French, Hungarian, Chinese, and Korean. The apps I use are Duolingo and Drops but I think Drops helps a lot sometimes because Duolingo doesn't have the tips on some languages and I hate the 5 hearts thing. Also Drops can be annoying too because I only get 5 minutes or more and I wish I can have more time to learn.

For me the best one is Drops because it doesn't overload your head as it is only 5mins and we can start a new session after every 10hours....and we can choose what we want to learn for example like kpop , food , consonants , vowels and so many.... And ya i have learned so many korean words and sentences so far, luv it❤

My first language is English. I want to learn German, Polish, Russian, and, if I'm willing to put up with it, Japanese. Polish because I'm actually 1/4 Polish, and my grandpa *USED* to know Polish, and has since lost that ability. I'm a native Dutch speaker. I also speak English 9/10, German, 7/10 and French 5/10 and have been learning Spanish with DuoLingo for about 2 months now. Although I do really like DL, you simply can't learn the language properly with just the app. As you mentioned, the pronounciation is a bit like Google translate, and it just can't be compared to how native Spanish speakers speak in real life. I've been chatting with some Spanish friends I made, and that has helped me a lot to understand better when spoken to. My reading and writing skills are ok at the moment, but still a little hesitant to actually speak Spanish, my pronounciation isn't all that well, and although I understand about 60% when written without a translator, it's hard for me to come up with the words I need while talking myself.

for those learning japanese i do not recommend using duolingo. it's hard to remember how to say the words and kanji and duo lingo goes through way to fast. i recommend using books for the words and sentences at least. i use apps for hiragana and katakana but i do use a book for kanji

Memrise has the first lesson free before having to pay for access to the rest, or something like that I don’t exactly remember. But I do know not all the lessons are free. Which is sad because I remember using the old version from several years ago with the og format and I loved it so much since I could pick up new things easily and it was all accessible, it’s just not the same anymore

Learning Chinese at the moment! Studying with Apps is not my favorite way of learning a language, I prefer watching a tone of videos online. What do you think about it?

That’s not easy - Spanish and French are quite similar so you might struggle learning them at the same time without mixing them up 😅
