"Rich people are afraid of leaves," lol...thanks Dave for encouraging us not to have excuses to do what God created us to do BEFORE the fall, which is to work! 💪🏽👊🏽☝🏽 Proverbs 6:6-11 6 Go to the ant, O sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise. 7 Without having any chief, officer, or ruler, 8 she prepares her bread in summer and gathers her food in harvest. 9 How long will you lie there, O sluggard? When will you arise from your sleep? 10 A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest, 11 and poverty will come upon you like a robber, and want like an armed man.

5:20 Dave, some people's circumstances don't allow them to work. For e.g my case I was with my wife in a foreign country, I could not work there legally. Hope you are compassionate to people who are in this position as well. During that time my only hope was that God would somehow open a door so that I could work legally. I was offered a job but the employer would not provide me the legal right to work (My christian convictions did not allow me to violate the law). I had to stay to help my wife because of the kids.

Dave Ramsey: 7 Goal setting categories NOTES: 1) Categories of goals: Career, personal financial, business financial, spiritual, physical, intellectual, family, social Zig Ziglar calls this the Wheel of Life. Zig says each person has a strong & weak area where you struggle w/. You need balance on all or you'll have a flat tire or consequences. 2) Write down your goals.

Even before the 2 min mark I know I'm screwed despite what Dave said. A career goal? Really? OK I have to write down my goals in my office for the boss. We all do. After 9 years trying to progress in this male dominated company, I still have NOT gotten the promotion that my boss said TO MY FACE he would give me. I see the lady coworker who wears clothes that are down to there and skirts up to there, I see the men going fishing with the boss, I see men who are buddies with the boss. Guess who got a promotion? The lay about buddy who talks sports with the boss, who completes half the amount of work that I complete. So my goal is not going to amount to anything. It's just me filling out the form year after year.

i disagree. i watched the first minute or two of this video up until the pie chart. I think the 5, debateably 6, areas you should set goals in are: 1) Intellectual: Constantly being a pursuit of knowledge 2)Social: MAKING or setting aside time for close friends and family 3)Physical: Having a physical outlet that you thoroughly enjoy which enables you to be active and allows you the physical capabiliy to not be prohibitted from enjoying things in life 4)Creative: a form of creative expression is also essential in my opinion, whether this is some form of art, photography, music, etc. that allows you to express yourself and relieve stress 5)Financial: Having financial goals and working towards a solid financial foundation allows you to relieve unnecessary stressors, that come from having a tight budget, and focus on the above categoies 6)Spiritual: This is debatable. I personally am a spiritual person, but i understand many people are not so I typically only say or suggest that people constantly be searching, not necessarily for a higher being, but his/herown individual place in the universe I think setting goals in these 5/6 categories allows for personal growth and ultimately enables you to achieve an overall well being which leads to happiness.
@stephendunker91376 жыл бұрын
I think its important to set career goals but your career is something that should come second to each of the afformentioned 5/6 I have listed. You shouldnt ever move to a city for a job, but move to a city because you love the city and the atmosphere it provides.

I think he is just making a point to get up out of our couch and off netflix and do something with our lives. Set goals and accomplish them. So he has to tell us his life to let us know he has been there and knows its not easy. Its called relating to people instead of just TELLING them what to do. People who are honest and open like Ramsey tend to touch more people's lives than people who pretend like they are perfect and never made a mistake in their entire lives so they have a right to tell you what you're doing wrong tends to never be able to really help anyone nor themselves because they are im denial. We all have strengths and weaknesses like he said in this video. Alot of the older generation like him are prideful and quick to judge and likes to tell our generation what to do, but are never honest and open about their own lives and experiences so that we can understand that it's coming from a place of love, experience and being there already. When Ramsey gives advice he always lets his listeners know he has been there to get to where he is at now to motivate us to make changes in our lives.
@roxannegordon61625 жыл бұрын
rosieforChrist: That's my point too. He always says; "Been that done that" he can relate. Like going to AA, all those people are in the same situation and can relate. Would you take advice from an alcoholic if you were one? If you wanted to loose weight would you ask someone who weighs 300 lbs?
