This is the BEST beginners tips video I haev seen. All the others are so freakin advanced, I dont understand anything. This was perfect. I had no idea you could auto-stack to chests and rename them! so cool!

Some more things that I think would be helpful: keep gel in your ammo slot, build your underground housing in the aether for ease of access, type/colour code your chests for what they contain, e.g. gold chest for ores, living wood chest for potion ingredients, water chest for dyes.

I never realized you could keep gel in the ammo slot. For the flamethrower I presume? That’s so useful. I have over 200 hours in the game lol

I've always been one to stash everything, I can't bring myself to trash or sell anything unless it's in such abundance or so easily attainable it doesn't matter. I don't have any reason for doing so, in no world am I going to need that cloud in a bottle I just found while digging out my Plantera arena, but a part of me likes using collectables and filled storage as a way of marking the journey that playthrough has gone through. Every statue, painting and other trinket adds up to show the age and stages of the playthrough almost like the rings of a tree. Idk.

after finished my expert world 2 days ago in my phone (a little hard play and build with phone). I started master mode 12 hours ago and still building a base 1 single block below the ground, creating a space for crafting above it, for chests, etc. last time in my last world, when invasion say hello in hardmode really killed my whole npc, so I decide to make it simple but organized, sound a lot of time, but I think it's worth it.

Beginner question: i tried Terraria on steamdeck just yesterday and didnt really like the controls there. Is it basically mandatory to play with an actual mouse on PC?

Some people say the console controls are better than pc once you get used to it. I think the devs made some good conscious decisions as to how the console controls are, so I'd say give it a try. You won't be disadvantaged.
