I've looked at a lot of these and this indie dwell is right up there among the best.... I see in the comments somebody mentioned the Sears houses. My grandmother and grandfather they're good friends lived across the street and they had a Sears house it was put up in the twenties I believe and still going strong today, 100 years later. I can't remember the style as of right now, big three or four bedrooms and very nice .

We could do this for clinics and emergency purposes in disaster locations. Hurricanes, earthquakes, post tornadoes to name a few. Heck today, it would work for outside classes during the pandemic.

Whole point is that the prices must be lower than traditional housing. If it takes less time less manpower & less everything then why price high?? There's no logic.
@sandasturner95293 жыл бұрын
I think the reason is the, stay with me now, "convenience".
@transcend31453 жыл бұрын
@@sandasturner9529 for tangible items the "convenience" factor adds the emotional blackmailing aspect. All tangible items must be priced according to the actual cost of production. I have seen people asking to pay for the "view" BUT that "view" was put in by nature and nobody human "produced" it but still want to cash in on it. It's crazy now a days that people lost the commonse thinking abilities. And the culture promotes the jungle law: one cunning animal latching on to a lesser cunning animal to suck their blood. These are NOT the traits of civilized "humans", but barbarians, it could be.

@porcorosso43303 жыл бұрын
@@transcend3145 It's just supply and demand. The price of something is not the price it cost to make it, it is the price people are willing to pay for it. It probably takes less than $100 to build an iphone, but they can charge $1000 for people to buy it.

This stuff is cool but I am much more interested in 3D printed home technology. I've been to nearly every 3D printed house in America and filmed them on my channel. Lately I've been covering the companies overseas that I can't currently reach. It amazing seeing how fast the industry is growing. The tech and designs are improving faster and faster.

In the United States, we need more affordable housing options, particularly in the major states like California, Texas and Florida..
@chadleach60093 жыл бұрын
Not going to happen, expect the opposite. I work as a realtor and electrician in Florida, we are at record lows for housing inventory. Even still the cost of materials over the past few months has shot up 25-50% in many cases to the point where its not economically feasible to build, as you run the risk of owing more than what the structure is actually worth. This is simply a consequence of inflation, as the money becomes worth less the cost of basic materials will only rise. Smart construction can help, but only so much.
@FunDuude3 жыл бұрын
yeah no. You're talking about a Social Democratic concept. You say anything associated with socialism here in the U.S. and people shit their pants. Our ultra capitalistic brainwashed society wouldn't allow for something like this.
@FunDuude3 жыл бұрын
Well in Texas the Politicians are just plain morons. They think laws created and enacted 60-70 yrs ago are still viable and good for todays society, instead of reviewing them and striking them down, because they are too lazy. So here in Tx if the high cost of materials doesn't get you then the County, City and School district Property Taxes will. It's incredible and Ridiculous that in this Ass Backwards state I can go and live in the middle of nowhere and still NOT PAY MUCH LESS IN PROPERTY TAXES than a person living in the CITY. It's just sad that people are PRICED out of their homes (that may have been in their families for generations) because of Property taxes. AS for the Expensive materials today, it's just good ol' Price Gauging. And the powers that be don't do anything about it, because no one is "screaming loud enough." When gas goes up, everyone and there moma is yelling and going crazy, and everyone up to the POTUS gets blamed for it, then congress steps in, But when others price Guage like the Grocery stores (druing the pandemic) Lowe's, Home depot et al, congress doesn't say anything, other than Oh it's gonna Rectify itself. It's sooo easy, I don't under stand how congress can just sit on there incompetent asses and not Pass something like a...IDK:" Commerce Emergency Price Guaging law," that says that during a Pandemic YOU CANNOT raise the prices on your products by over 30, 50, 100, 200%. But the ultimate insult is that the companies raising the prices are also the ones getting money from the Covid Acts and the Covid Relief Acts and the Stimulus bills and what have you. So they're getting money for relief and to keep their companies afloat and they Turn around and on top of that ADD 100-400%+ markup on their products. And congress says nothing. Pure Greed.

The price tag has more to do with the location rather than the house itself. A match box size apartment in New York city can cost the same as a 5 room mansion in Texas.

Prefab is ok if you need something quick and cheaper, but you get what you pay for. They won't last long, so if you plan to live in in more the 15 years then your out of luck. You may get 20 but it may not make it. Your better off building a real home yourself. Building a home is not hard. If I can teach my sister, who is not coordinated at all. Then anyone can. These are nice but its a waste in the long run.
