Great tips, Stephanie! I've had a knee jerk reaction for years when watching influencers line in the waterline, top & bottom. If you want to make your ophthalmologist cringe tell him or her you do that! It's good for clogging glands and causing styes! I've never done it thankfully.

I’m passionate about liner on the water line too. I think so many people will regret this. Many people do it daily and so many influencers teach it as a must. I have don’t it a few times and it looks great but it’s not worth it to me to damage my eyes.

Thank you for the very clear and well explained caution on waterline lining. I've had chronic dry eye and styes and I know my eye makeup was a major culprit. (Staring for hours at computer screens in my work, also was a major cause).

I have dry eye also. Have you found a concealer that does not make your eyes tear? I keep searching!

@@Pkrol-t6c I don't think that exists, lol. On bad days, I don't set my concealer because I feel it makes it worse. I also have GPC from wearing contacts so I use an allergy drop to help. I have found the more emollient concealers are easier to pat down and correct when my eyes are super irritated.

I always look forward to your videos and this one was no exception. I am in my 70s and have always worn an eye primer (not a concealer). I have oily hooded eyes and for me City Beauty Lid Lifting Treatment does not work for me as a primer; I must put a regular eye primer on top and then seal with translucent powder. The only reason I use the City Beauty daily under primer is to use it up and not waste it. Also MAC paint pot does not work as a primer for me but again it is probably due to my oily, hooded lids.

Hi! Are you getting blurring, smoothing, or slight lifting from the treatment? Take a pic before applying it and a minute after you let it set and compare them. If so, then it's not wasted use! Paint pots don't work for me either. Everyone is so different when it comes to what works for them. Thank you! :)

My problem, which you can't fix is I have a permanent shoulder injury so in the middle of applying eye make up my arm will jerk and then I have major clean up. Still learning at 73! Your makeup application is beautiful on you, but you have a beautiful canvas to work with! 💖

Great tips! I applied black eyeliner to the waterline for years when I was younger and now I'm 62 years old and have to use eye drops daily for dry eye. Don't know if it was caused from this but I'm sure it did not help.

I I know that you have natural blue eyes, but during one of the close-up shots in this video, I noticed that your irises are so gorgeous. They look like when people wear color enhancing contacts but it looks like those are your natural eyes… are you wearing enhancing contacts or are those your natural irises? cause they are beautiful!

I They’re both good. I have one upstairs where I film and one down where I get ready and use both. If I had to choose, I’d go for pink but it has just a slight edge :)

Thank you Stephanie for the helpful tips. The undereye skin on my left side is trickier for me and is a little more wrinkly; a real pain to deal with. Does your undereye skin differ on either side or are they both the same? I also have had Trigeminal Neuralgia on the left side of my face. I also NEVER put anything on my water line either. I used to wear contact lenses and knew it would lead to trouble!

The left side of my face is a bit trickier to deal with overall (my under eye is more hollow, darker, and a bit drier) and I have more sunspots on that side. I used to drive a lot for work, so I'm sure that's why. I'm glad you enjoyed the video! :)

If you have dry eye, don’t apply concealer close to the waterline. I had to have my glands unplugged again due to this.

Oddly every mascara I've ever used flakes off during the day. Doesn't matter if it's tubing, waterproof, cheap, luxury, super wet formula, dry, one coat, multiple coats, it doesn't matter. I've decided it just is. I typically don't set with setting powder either so it sticks to my face. Or I'm sweating so it sticks to my face lol.

I also cringe at the use of makeup in the waterline. I saw a video from an ophthalmologist who was squeezing oil out of someone’s waterline-and the oil was thick like toothpaste. Ew!! The patient had been lining their waterline and had damaged those glands. 😮
