I just failed the Nurse Practitioner exam. I cannot begin to articulate the level of embarrassment and heartache I'm feeling. I'm confident that I will be a good nurse. I just need to get past this, move on and persevere.

I was never an A student or so, or a student who like to study, Even when I had exams Monday mornings I had to watch my football. When I do study, it would be for 3-3/2 hrs the most. However, I passed my PN an and my NCLEX on the first try with 75 questions. I believe it was mostly my mentality and approach that got me through, and prayers of course. I did a lot of positive affirmation. And I thank God. Good luck on your exam. You will be successful.

That's so amazing that you were able to pass in 75 questions on your first try! Hopefully, I can say the same in a couple of days. You sound like someone with a strong resolve who's able to balance their life well. I admire that!

Are you able to finish and repeat taking your QBanks? How many weeks you utilize your kaplan? Hope to know your thoughts as I also use kaplan.

Hey! I just made a video talking a little more about what I did to study (-: long story short though, I didn't finish getting through my entire Qbank. I prioritized doing the tests more than doing the Qbank. I also used Kaplan throughout my entire nursing program, so about 2 years. However, I only did a handful of tests while I was in nursing school. I finished the rest of the tests once I graduated and it took me a little over a week to finish all the tests. I really do like Kaplan though! I thought Kaplan was actually harder than the NCLEX

Sorry I took so long to do this, but I kinda talked about it in my latest video! To add more detail, I think it’s a good resource for nursing school bc it sections things off by body system and talks about disorders for each body system. They have pretty good reference tables too for meds, assessments, interventions, and monitoring. I don’t know if this would be a book I would go out and buy though. I just have this book because I think it was part of my nursing school tuition, so they just handed it to us. My class notes were usually a lot more helpful in actually passing class exams than using the Kaplan Basics book. It’s a good refresher though, at least!
