Emotional regulation is difficult to work on if you're an otherwise emotionally sensitive person but it's definitely a worthwhile habit to practice! Therapy really helped me gain insight as to why I react the way I do - and that lessened the power emotions have over my actions.

Love the idea of forgiving yourself to avoid stress. I read recently that negative thoughts are generally built around incompletion - an unsaid thought, an undone task, etc. That's why they linger with us.

Hi Michelle, this has been my favourite video so far. I have recently been diagnosed with ADHD and recently got out of a 4 year relationship where we even bought a house together. I am also only just starting to see a psychologist as well to help with emotional regulation. I think you and I are probably around the same age and wow, I just love how emotionally mature you are and how relatable you are. I love that you accept your human-ness haha and I really love that you don’t only give advise but you provide real life examples that I can really relate to. It feels like I’m with you while you’re talking. I wrote down all your steps onto my iPad so that I can flick it up and remind myself and have downloaded your app as well I just wanted to comment to say how much I appreciated this video and to thank you for your advise. I feel like your self discovery journey is very much one that we can see without you even saying it and to be honest it’s not just reading books about others who have overcome things (although I will do this) it’s also listening to you where it’s obvious you have overcome things and are where you are today. You’re really inspiring. Thank you xx

Thank you so much for considering your ADHD audience! Hearing that friendly heads-up feels like when a friend learns about your condition to be able to support you better and it makes me feel understood and supported. Thank you so much for this.

Re: boundaries, my mentor described them as appropriate tension. A lot of us are very uncomfortable with tension and will try to break it for the other person, which thereby breaks their boundary. If we've set a boundary, it's our job to uphold the tension around that issue; the other party will only feel tension if they're encroaching on the boundary, and it's on them if they do.

Reframing your mind is SO POWERFUL!👏 I use to hate my body image and I always had negative comments about how I looked, especially when I shopped for new clothes. Then I heard a girl saying that she, instead of saying negative comments about her body, said it about the clothes she tried on, like "This dress isn't very flattering for my body type", "This store doesn't have good sizing and fit for my body shape" etc. Thinking like this has made me like and appreciate my body for what it is, no matter what size or weight I am. Great video as always, as a people pleaser I have to work on setting boundaries and being uncomfortable, will definitely try the suggested techniques 🥰

Also pro tip: your intuition is *always* right, if someone tells your business they are not someone to keep in your life, they are snakes disguises as friends/family. Knowledge is power and learning about the narcissism with videos on youtube, it will help save many years off your life to learn how to deal with those individuals. Blessings xo

For adhd, brillia ( no side effects) and tranquilene are so helpful for emotional regulation. For women especially affected by period mood swings, jubilance is brand new and works to eliminate the emotional roller coaster.

Feeling like you're constantly overlooked can make us question our worthiness Your worth can never be determined by someone else, People not giving you the credit that deserve is always their loss. You don't have to prove yourself to anyone.

I was unsubscribed for a while in my attempt of decreasing my hours spent on KZbin (well...😅) but I REALLY missed your energy 🤍 Thank you for this video, the topic hits hard. I really enjoy talking about mindset and how it contributes to our daily actions and I try including this aspect of my life in my writing, photography and videos as much as I can. Rather than just discussing the things happening around us, there should be much more emphasis on what's going on inside us, because that is the basis of everything and I feel like it is still sooo overlooked. PS I love this background setting, I have a lot to catch up on!

For me, my borderline emotional personality disorder makes emotional regulation a bug struggle. Especially as I also have OCD, severe depression & anxiety in the mix! Therapy in this country is a nightmare to get when you can't afford private which is why videos like this are essential for me to better myself and, in turn, control some of my symptoms. So thank you Muchelle.

Really like the content of your videos but they are really intense. I wish you would dive deeper into each suggestion and skill. Let’s say we are talking about being fine making someone uncomfortable because of your boundaries. What are the three exercises to do to practice and gain this skill? Give us an empty minute in a video to try them. I personally try to follow your advice but going over it so quickly pushes me into consuming the advice and forgetting it rather then actually trying it out. I am Professor at the university. What I described is called active learning, and my students usually prefer that over fast-paced lectures. I want to watch more of your videos because love you and your content, but often shy away because they are too fast-paced and dense to really understand, soak in, and learn a new skill. Note that although this comment is a feedback on how to potentially improve, I have just spent 15 min of my life writing it. It means that I really like what you and what you to succeed, and that is the only reason why I am writing and did not click off this page to do something else. Good luck and hope to see more of your videos!

I will not let anyone walk through my mind with their dirty feet.” ~Gandhi Someone says something to us that is not very nice, or we hear from a friend that a co-worker has insulted our new hairstyle or personality. We have taken these words and ingested them. They are now harbouring somewhere deep within us. We feed them with worry and anger. We contemplate the words, trying to dissect their meaning. We absorb their negative energy. Then, to make it even worse, we hold on to them, allowing them to fester for days, weeks, or maybe even years to come. In truth, words cannot hurt. They are only words. The words cannot live without us feeding them with our thoughts. Without thoughts put behind them, they mean nothing.
