@Marko Jotic Nothing wrong mate. Strafing(a word that means shooting ground targets) are usually performed from the side of the vehicle. This is because the surface area exposed is larger. There is a higher chace of hitting the target.
@ChucksSEADnDEAD5 жыл бұрын
@@leontam221 I don't think the surface area matters that much but it depends on what you're trying to achieve. If you have two birds to attack a convoy it's perfectly feasible to do a pass attacking the lead and the tail vehicle to pin everyone in the middle, turn around and then do passes from the front. Even if surface area was greater from the side, you get more time on the target by coming from the front or the rear.

Agreeing with others, james cameron and Christopher nolan are 2 of the best action film directors of this generation. Also Cameron's use of live action and practical effects allows for someone like me to stay connected to the story and not get bored. In addition, the speed the harriers fly compared to the choppers and the cars combined with the music, also add to the urgency of the scene. They literally are trying to destroy 3 nukes in trucks, coordinate the evacuation of residents from a nuke, in a window of about 34 minutes. It doesnt get more urgent than that

An absolutely mind-blowing action sequence. This was the reason I watched the movie three times in theatres.

When I first saw this movie 20 years ago, I literally thought that they actually blew up the bridge. That's how believable the practical effects were, I knew the Harriers were real but still though.

Still love this movie, and specifically this scene. I got to see a real Harrier on the ground and take off for the airshow here in Toronto. I think it was at Downsview back when it was still an airport that opened to the public for people to see preflight, and the way the Harrier speeds off from VTOL position was just amazing.

Is that James Cameron on the radio? In the first 10 seconds you realize how perfectly timed that was for Tom Arnold to say his dialogue and immediately que the jets fly by. Excellent!
@nocalsteve4 жыл бұрын
You realize that’s a green screen shot, right? There are no Harriers behind him.
@benjiespinosa47034 жыл бұрын
nocalsteve negative. That is not a green shot. Look at it again. Whenever he looks at Tom Arnold after he says “negative” that’s chronographed. That also might’ve been an actual projected screen. But definitely not the harrier scene
@nocalsteve4 жыл бұрын
@@benjiespinosa4703 You’ve been fooled. Seriously, that’s an impossible shot. There is no way two Harriers flew that fast in formation that close to a helicopter carrying two stars. The actual fly by shot showed the Harriers flying at least 500ft below the helicopters which is where they probably got the first shot in this clip of the Harriers in formation from one of the helicopters. Look at all of the other shots from inside the helicopter which are obviously green screen. It makes no sense that Cameron would waste the money trying to get that shot when he had far more important Harrier shots to get. Harriers don’t come cheap. If you seriously think about it for a moment you’ll realize it’s just good special effects, it didn’t actually happen. Every other interior shot in the helicopter, the trucks, and the limo were all obviously green screened. It defies logic that the one Harrier shot is real.
@benjiespinosa47034 жыл бұрын
nocalsteve at .09 seconds is where you can see its real. The interior on the ceiling is not chronographed. The lighting is just too accurate to argue. Just because you think it’s not logically possible or waste of money doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. At 11 seconds of the clip we see a wide shot of the exact shot in question. You can clearly see two helicopters in shot flown in front of the harriers. Also Look at T2 the truck/ helicopter chase sequence. The pilot was a Vietnam vet pilot that flown choppers in the war. And he was going under bridges and barely flying over bridges at close quarters. James Cameron was a pushing the limits back then. I’m telling you this shot in the first 15 seconds of this clip is very real and very precised. Hats off to the pilots and crew. It’s really a beautiful shot.
