My great grandfather was a WW2 veteran. He said the tracer bullets made the battle look like Christmas fireworks. This movie clearly overdid it with tracer bullets. It feels like there are no other types of bullets here.
@joeh7824Ай бұрын
the movie's sound design is tricking you into thinking the m1919a4 .30 is shooting slow. but in reality the amount of visual tracer rounds being shown is accurate. In a belt you would have 1 tracer round for every 5 bullets. When fired it feels like you are shooting only tracers due to the rate of fire

While severely unrealistic on technical front this movie does one thing brilliantly that it almost gives me chills. It shows how desensitized troops become after prolong exposure to combat. You see people you knew, your friends died and it will take it's toll. Some break and some just become numb to all the suffering and death. War is hell. Pray you never have to experience it either as a soldier or worst like a civilian.
@raymondbero687914 күн бұрын
always thought it was funny how strong they made the shermans in this movie a point blank shot from an anti tank round even at an angle would have shredded that shermans corner wide open, the germans didnt just lose easily we lost hundreds of men and tanks to take just simple checkpoints and cities the only reason the germans lost was low morale and not enough supplies because the US and the UK kept bombing civilian roads and factories
@joecruz47063 күн бұрын
And the fact that Hitler literally killed all good ideas. MP-44/STG-44 would've been a game changer for German infantry if they allowed it. He killed off experienced generals and command staff because they had different ideas on how to fight a war. The German military thought it was a great idea to invest in great tanks without realizing that what Stalin said was true, that "Quantity is a quality all on it's own." Germany was doomed to lose this war, they lost the second Operation Barbarossa was enacted.

So true. They should make a movie about their favorite tactic. Sending mass numbers of unarmed soldiers towards the enemy to exhaust the opponent. And that these poor boys were killed by their own officers if they ran back to their own lines. Now that would be honest....
@danyapk834915 күн бұрын
@@TheCriticalPoliticianLooks like somebody has watched “enemy at the gate” and think that this movie is historically accurate. I don’t blame you I thought these scenes were real when I watched it the first time. Explanation: Even though the soviets have lost more soldiers than the Germans, they were not that suicidal. They was no shortage of gun and the primary mission of NKVD agent was not to kill soldiers who were retreating (not summarily and with a machine gun I mean). In fact, of the 650 000 soldiers arrested for desertion, only 25 000 were executed and the others were reassigned in other units under close surveillance. However you’re not so wrong in the substance of your words. Some officers really didn’t give a sh*t about the value of human life. But this happened on both sides to be honest.
