I’m not usually an all or nothing person, but I have to be when it comes to retwists. I don’t have a “grid” or set parts, so the loctician was constantly ripping hairs away from locs to create different parts when retwisting. Now, I’m semi Freeform and I do crochet instead of retwisting 3 times a year. So far so good.

Yeah sometimes the Locticians be doing WAY TOO MUCH! Because they really focus on solely the Locs looking "aesthetically" pleasing. I love that you've found a method that works best for you ❤️

Thanks for sharing, I noticed that my hair had started to thin out, much to my despair. Glad I came across your video, I'm going to implement this method of not twisting or loc'n my hair; hopefully my hair will start to thicken again.

Aww I hope it will thicken up ❤️

Love your locs. So glad I found your video. I am semi freeforming too. Last retightening was 8 weeks ago. My locs are the same length as yours. My parts are all different and my loc sizes are all different and I love that. Saw a video of yours about a year ago and your locs have thicken up lovely. I don't style my locs I just leave them be Cant wait for the roots to show the thickness. The loctician I had would interloc my hair so tight to the roots. A month in and I hardly had any regrowth and she would be asking me to come in for a retwist. Nah I am done with all that. Semi freeforming it is from now on. 😊😊😊😊😊

These Locticians are something else! No new growth, and still advising you come back for retightening?🙄🙄 I am glad that you'll be giving semi-freeform a try 💃🏾 ❤️

Firstly so pleased to see a loc update after your insta post 🤩 secondly the way your hair thickness has changed is amazing, such a difference. Would love an updated hair routine video of course; please and thank you 🩷

Tour babies are looking great, Winnie! I think with my own, the longer and heavier they get, the more the roots are stretched and they take fo’eva to loc!!! A trim to BSL might be the thing that keeps me from ending this loc journey at year 10. 🤷🏾♀️

Thank you🥰 Yeah you are right, in the past when I've had them at waist-length I didn't realise how heavy they were until I cut them short. Time will tell what you decide to do❤️

Yesss Wini, I refer to 3 strand free flowing twists as a plaits. Braids are connected to the scalp. Thanks for clarifying your semi free-form method. I've considered myself as a semi free-former because I was retwisting 3 or 4 times a year. I just hadn't considered solely popping/separating every wash day as a free-forming.
@Winis_World4 ай бұрын
Yeah solely popping/separating is considered as semi-freeforming as it doesn't involve any retwisting/interlocking, but you are still making sure that they don't matte together at the roots.

Love this video. I’m cultivating my second set… I have no sculpted plan. Keeping it super simple. Just letting them do what they do.

This sounds good!! All the best with your second set❤️

Your locs really does look much fuller and healthier than before, it seems semi freeforming is working well for you. Question. If you are able to maintain that thickness from root to end, will you let it grow long or are you a scissor happy locer
@Winis_World4 ай бұрын
Thanks so much! I have decided (for now haha I may change my mind) to leave the scissors alone, and let my Locs grow. I hope I am able to maintain the thickness.. i also would love for it to get thicker if possible ❤️

I want to be semi freeform (no retwists, separate at roots), but I don't want to develop flat locs. I have to settle for retwisting less often. It's tedious.
@Winis_World4 ай бұрын
Flat Locs? I've not heard this happening because of semi-freeforming before. How interesting!
