It is easy to love yourself if you are moving your body and eating right-ish, no matter your size! Take a little walk, eat a few more fruits and veg, try some stretching and relaxation. And smiling always helps, even if it is just for yourself.

My husband finally started walking with me. In 6 weeks time he has lost 14#. We walk for 30 minutes at about 3-3.5 mph, about 1.5 miles. So, yes movement is so important.

I love color too. It seems most women at dressy events (at least the ones I go to) stick to all black. It's like a uniform: the black sleeveless dress with black heels & black bag. Personally, I find it very boring. The outfit lacks personality & everyone looks the same.

Hi, Heather. I always enjoy your videos with their practical but fun advice! In this one you mentioned being between sizes, which is where I am now. I am on a weight-loss program of sorts and have lost 20 lbs. so far. The jeans that I have been wearing before starting the program are now quite loose and tend to slide down. I have a couple of pairs in a smaller size that are a bit tight in the waist (but it's amazing that I can even get them on). I don't want to spend the money to get all of the cjrrent

I only have clothing that fits me now so I have to make sure I keep my weight in check, within a 5 lb. normal flucuation. I used to keep some pants that were too small or too large. That may be hard to do for some women but keeping my weight within 5 lbs. is doable for me and I feel comfortable with the way I look this way. Sure I have to weight myself about once a week but that's okay. Better than having a shock of a 13 lb. weight gain during peri-menopause, which happened to me. I also only keep clothing that I really like to wear. Life is easier that way! Thanks for your ideas, Heather.

Hi Heather, and thanks for all your practical and fun advice. I am one of those people who is between sizes at the moment. I have lost about 25 lbs. My jeans are a little big and tend to slide down. I can get back into my older jeans, which are snug in the waist but don't slide. I don't want to spend a lot of money on alterations. I'm short and look silly in trendy wide pants. Do you have any suggestions about what I can do so to keep looking good while my weight changes? Thank you!

Stretchy belts will pull things in as you wear the larger clothes. I also showed the Cinch-it gadget to bring in the waist of a dress or top ( I forgot that as an alternative you could also go to the underside of the material and bring it in with an elastic.) Hope this helps!

Have you been spying on me, Heather?? Lol! You described what I am dealing with weight wise to a T! At almost 61, I am heavier than I was with my first pregnancy where i gained 50 lbs! I have been trying for several years to shed this menopause/slow metabolism/5 kids/hormonal weight and have had little to no success. It disheartening and frustrating. I have no real problem with my health, am active and feel pretty good! But, I do worry about not being able to keep dong the things I love for as long as possible because of this extra weight. I am guilty of dressing in baggy sweaters to hide my flab. You have given me a new outlook on myself. I will continue to try to lose this extra weight. but I'm not going to obsess over it. And I'm going to get rid of those too big sweaters! Thank you from Sue in BC!

You look slimmer when you have clothes that fit you properly instead of covering everything up or wearing clothes that are too tight because you don't want to admit you have gone up a size buying your actual size will look much better on you and that number in the back of your clothes is exactly that just a number

A linen pair of pants would work and since you are showing your arms a long flowing dress or skirt and top that shows them off would work!

I cannot wear cheap flip flops. I have to have some with support. And I have two or three pairs. I wear ones from Clark’s. They are comfortable. I wear Bermuda shorts and t shirts or blouse. I did wear a black shirt the other night to my grandson’s band concert. I hardly ever wear black. I’m more of a white or color person. Tomorrow we’re going to a car show. Which I think is going to be outside in the parking lot. I can wear my flip flops but I may wear some sneakers. I know my feet will get hot. But it might be better for walking around on blacktop. And if it is outside I will be wearing a white t shirt. To reflect the sun off of me. I love it when it’s warm. But even I get hot sometimes.

OK...I will happily do my part and let someone feel better by accepting a not-so-outdated expensive suit to add to my bare wardrobe because I've had to go back to work since the price of well-made clothing has sky-rocketed since COVID. And please be kind and rewind by dry cleaning that suit because the resale shop does not provide that service, but then you knew that didn't you. They don't always ask and oops a few stinkers come through and then I have to head over to Ross the Boss and pick through their seconds and watch out for outfits with missing button holes and mismatched dye lots of fabric and dime store belts and ties...but hey, it's a bargain they tell me. What fun it is to buy Fauz leather shoes! Yes, that's the designer, not the material. That gooey green on the bottom is his trademark, not something one has stepped in. I hope you liked my fun little poke at my life as it is after Covid. I have to joke about it so I don't cry. And yes, I write humor. Erma Bombeck was and still is my inspiration.
