I finished FF10 on almost every system it released on and never managed to get a single ultimate weapon. Don't know what it is about these mini games but i just can't deal with them really makes me appreciate how relatively straightforward it is to get them in the tales series, especially in vesperia where you have pretty much 2 different sets of ultimate weapons.

What also makes Caldbolg so hard to obtain is that if you don't get the second element (Sun Crest) the first time you can, then when you come back, it's protected by Dark Bahamut.

@@Kspice9000 If by 'original' you mean the Japanese release, you might be right. I've not plated that version, so I can't say what's possible and what isn't. But it was possible to go back and get the Sun Crest in the international versions back in 2001.

The Chocobo racing was really easy for me. On my 2 playthroughs, only the first one took me more than 1 attempt. Fuck the lightning dodge though, I’ll just as soon stop using Lulu than go after her celestial weapon. Yuna is a better black mage anyway when you get to the late game and expand her sphere grid.

As someone who finally did the complete FFX 100%, the only part I was truly unhappy about was the amount of resets it took to get everyone's 3 slot triple AP weapons from One-Eye using only Yojimbo. I probably could have done grinding to make it so I could kill him on my own but I didn't and it was nearly 50 hours of resets.

Back in the day, I had an absolutely legendary FFX file, I was pretty obsessed with that game. I had everyone's celestial weapons maxed, along with two sets of ultimate armlets, countless hours spent in Blitzball, and an unheard of record of 551 lightning bolts dodged in Thunder Plains; I shit you all not, I WISH I had the footage. It literally took me over 2 hours of pure concentration, and upon exhaustion, I chose to end the record instead of being struck randomly, and the reason I went that high was because I couldnt keep track of how many bolts I'd had dodged, so out of fear I kept going, and going.

@@dcphillips1991 Yeah it's generally easy to get, never had an issue finishing the race in a handful of attempts myself. It can however be a brutally hard weapon too depending on if your game has Dark Aeons and whether you forget to pick up the Sun Crest after defeating Yunalesca, in that case you will have Dark Bahamut standing in your way whom you will have to defeat which is a really tough fight if you don't want to cheap out with Yojimbo's Zanmato (I begrudgingly did this during my first playthrough).

@@kingkongzc The RNG isnt that bad. Skip the first balloon and and directly at the second and you directly have a huge advantage. Ive never had it take me a 1000 tries. Sure, I havent got it on the first try, but I always get it within an hour, which makes it one of the quickest weapons to complete together with the Spirit Lance.

I'm talking about chaining gargoyles in Giruvegan, then going into the great crystal and getting 256 necrophebes to divide, then killing the Larva Eater for a 12% chance to get the best dagger.

Whe I saw this title, I was like "If they don't include Caladbold from FFX, they have a brain leak." Also, Onion Knight in FFX had a cheese strat. A spot on the Thunder Plains where you could trigger a lightning bolt at will, which involved one of the towers and as such granted you a safe spot to take a break, and it still works in all the HD remasters.

There's some misinformation here. The Chocobo minigames in FFX only the very first challenge does the chocobo move in random directions. After clearing the first challenge, the Chocobo does obey the player's directions. Meaning Dodger Chocobo, Hyper Dodger Chocobo, and Catcher Chocobo, you have full control over your chocobo. The only time the chocobo will ever turn on its own, is if the player wanders out of bounds.

Honestly, the only issue with the last challenge is trying to grab enough balloons and still win. You're going to get hit anyway so grabbing balloons while staying ahead of the trainer should be priority.

Great video! Dunno if someone already mentioned this, but for Dissidia Opera Omnia Burst aren't the strongest weapon in JP anymore, they've gotten weapons actually called "Ultima Weapon" now. It doesn't have a burst phase, but it provides a huge stat boost.

As someone with multiple TEA clears, the hardest part of that entire fight is the first phase. Whilst the later mechanics definitely get more complex, they only punish you by getting them incorrect. The first phase has adds that you need to weaken and feed to Living Liquid, and if you kill them they wipe the party. The amount of wipes on that phase because of accidental direct critical hits my static has had is insane as it's something you can't really control 100% of the time XD

4:15 One correction here: the chocobo during the last challenge doesn't actually change it's path at random. You can even see this is the case in the footage. There were also no blitzballs, though that's superfluous on my part. Unless of course you were talking about the challenges as a whole up to the last one having included such, but it's fine. The challenge itself is bad enough, but imagining it with added random movements gives me a headache. I still remember doing it on my Vita in high school during class. Good times.

It _does_ change at random though, that's the ultimate kick in the blitzballs. It became such a headache for so many of us solely because of the randomization element, virtually negating any chance of winning the sigil through sheer practice or skill alone.

@@crispycrunch9971 Except that the chocobo doesn't change direction randomly, and I'm tired of people saying it does with no proof. When I initially tried the minigame, I thought so as well (and did a ton of googling to find any official information on it), but that isn't the case. After hours of practicing that damnable game to get the sigil, the only time your chocobo will change direction is if you hit an invisible wall. That's why you stay toward the middle of the course and NEVER hug the edges. After that, it's just knowing which balloons you can safely grab and trying to avoid triggering the birds' spawn points. So yeah, the game IS skill-based, but it's made hard because the controls are awful, there are numerous invisible walls, and some of the birds' spawn points are unfair as fuck.

I learned by accident with the X|X-2 version of FFX that the Chocobo race mini game is highly adaptive. Out of rage I purposely held left on the controller and managed to get stuck in a corner taking over 3 minutes to complete the attempt. I beat the challenge on my next attempt as hardly any birds or balls came my way. so I believe you can cheese the challenge by sandbagging your first attempt and then simply trying your second.

I always found Wakka’s weapon to be second most difficult to get after Lulu’s. Tidus’ was tricky but because it was fun it never took that long but Blitzball was duuuuuuull and I hated grinding thru it just for that sigil!

Wakkas was hardest for me cause Blitzball was so time consuming and Wakka is a top tier character. Like idk why they made him so loaded it makes for really complacent team comps with Tidus cause he's also loaded and Rikku for Mix. I think that's what I'd say if they remade FFX today talk to people who no life that game about how to make other party members as worth it as Tidus, Wakka and Riku.

@@migjordanpayawal7856 See, I find lightning dodging MASSIVELY less terrible than getting a 0 score on Chcoobo Racing. That's legitimately one of the deepest levels of hell imo. With lightning dodging, the trick is that the light flashing is what needs to trigger the button press, not the sound cue. My advice? Sit in a dark room, mute the sound, and don't really look AT the TV - just look to the side, and press it when you see a flash. It's actually a pretty decent input period. It's just that the ambient design of the lightning plains works against you, with sound effects and other light cues, music, etc. So taking away those distractions makes it pretty easy. It's definitely boring, and it certainly gets stressful as you approach 200, but it's so much better than chocobo racing.

I'm surprised none of the relic weapons of FF14 are in here, as they all require an intense grind. Still working on my first Resistance Weapon, grinding Eden raids for 60 crystals, after also doing Omega and Alexander raids 60 times each. And that was just one part of the grind.

TEA weapons are much more difficult to get than resistance weapons IMO. Relics this expac are extremely forgiving compared to previous ones like ARR.

@@goldenwoody79 I just looked it up and yeah, it certainly seems like a challenging boss rush, but upon completion you get a totem, which is all you need for the weapon. Meanwhile the Relic Weapons, including the Resistance Weapons, are far more grindy. I'd agree if you needed like 5 or 10 totems for the weapon, but if you're just gearing one class, you just need one completion. If you got yourself a dedicated static who know what they're doing, you'll get it. But with the relic weapons, they're not too difficult, but they take forever for your first one. I only just recently got my DNC Resistance Weapon the other day, and that's the only completed Relic Weapon I have.

@@AzureKyle I think you're underplaying how much time gets put into progging an ultimate. I've completed UWU(Easiest of the 3) and my group ran for 2 months, 9 hours a week before 5.4 then shenanigans happened and we had to regroup after the savage tier to reprog for another 2 months at 9 hours/week. Overall now I can get multiple weapons easily but the amount of time you need to put into progging the fight trumps relic weapons by far IMO in terms of overall difficulty/patience. Just coming from someone that has completed a relic on all of the expansions as well as completing the easiest ultimate

I suppose I was basing it off of that, because I was with a leaning group in my FC that ran it 2 hours a day, one day a week, and we got first clear after like the 4th week, about 7 1/2 hours total, with the last half hour starting E10S

Only Zodiac Spear from the original XII, and Seitengrat from TZA are really that ridiculous. But all of the other best weapons, including the zodiac spear in TZA, aren't bad at all to get, you'll even come across a handful of them if you're pretty thorough about searching through each area and combing over things a couple times for the RNG chests. Spend some extra time in Pharos/Cerobi Steppe/Sochen Cave Palace and do the hunt club and you'll have most of them.

Ngl Gacha in DFFOO is quite generous, dare i say it's the most generous gacha after Summon plan for FFBE. And the gameplay doesn't need so much gacha separately like most of gacha games nowadays (separated banners character, weapon, armor, and others) most of the time you'll be grinding and building a good party combo.

It's absolutely F2P friendly and the game itself isn't even pushy about making a real-currency purchase an obligation, the only time anyone probably need it is when anyone buy a mog pass (which includes Mog token that can be traded with BT token / other hard-to-get materials) because the board grind takes so much time, especially with non-synergy / event-featured character. Other than that are just a mere skin / weapon gloss and hard-to-get materials.

I never had a problem doing the chocobo races on ffx, even back when it first came out and I played the game to death I remember passing these fast and then I played the remastered version on PS3 and still didn't have problems and once again I played the remastered version on PS4 and still did it easy. Just something my brain snapped to learning very quickly and was able to do it always with just a couple of races, the lightning one is easy if you have patience and know the area to make it happen when you want so it's not hard in a challenging way just in a tolerance way and will show how much dedicated time can you give in one go if you want a guarantee win.

Honestly I found the chocobo race worse then the lightning dodger. Where’s lightning dodger has a specific spot to help you get up to 200, it’s a matter of focus that one. Chocobo race is a hot mess where you legit have to be lucky, you could get 0:00 exactly but it still screws you over cause you need it to be below 0:00, I’m talking from experience sadly.

The Epic o Alexander is so hard, a static (group of people playing together to clear raid) are averaging at 100-120 hours of progress to clear it. Which mean 2-3 months of you dying over and over again with the same people. It need commitment, and patience big enough for you and your team to not blow up and breaking up the static because impatience. Also, if you join a static for TEA, you automatically agreed to re clear it for loots, because finding new people to clear it again is painful.

After all of those chocobo races, especially with a defiant chocobo. Not only was I beyond relieved to see it over, I wanted to resurrect the chocobo eater, handing it over a years worth of overgrown chicken meat.

The only one I'd push back on are the burst weapons. If you were to start a new account today, you can get a premium mog pass, which boost your Summon board farming, but more importantly gives you burst weapon tokens. In order to get a free burst you you need 50. The mog pass gives you 10 of them. So you can either wail on the premium pass for 4 months, or do challenge quest which are lvl 180 quest that give you a burst token. The challenge quest require you to use the surgery character for that event, but even if you start a new account, just playing for around a month or two you'd be able to get them done in no time. In regards to burst+, you just gotta play the game long enough to have around 12 current characters and a decent set of calls with a couple good support friend units to get through the lufenia+ quest. The burst, from the perspective of someone who's been playing it for nearly a year, dont sound too bad. But I can see how they're seem very hard to obtain. But I'd personally say getting something like the sun sigil or some of the other weapons on this or previous list are harder to obtain.

When I played FFX remaster I was able to beat the Chocobo race at 00:00 first time. Problem was I forgot I needed the celestial mirror, had to get it and then do the race again which then took me much longer. Still never been able to get Lulu's Venus Sigil item for it that you need to dodge 200 lightning bolts in a row for.

So while the info on the Burst weapons in Opera Omnia is correct, you did also neglect to mention that there is a token system that allows you to grab a BT weapon is you have 50 of them. While it still is hard to get a Burst, just like woth the lightning dodging in X, there is a way to not make it so bad. Otherwise, great video. Love to see your vids pop up in my notifications

I felt extremely lucky when I went Sigil hunting in FFX. I got the Sun Sigil in two tries. I'd like to offer a correction, however. In the final Chocobo race, your chocobo will listen to your commands 100%. There is no randomness involved in its movement.

FF10's ultimate weapons are rightly infamous, but... am I the only person in the world that didn't have much that trouble with the Chocobo race? I think the "change its path at random" aspect comes from people not understanding how it works: the Chocobo automatically moves forward along a fixed path, and all you control is its angle (left and right) along that path. It still takes luck to have a good run, but it's not impossible to control.

The Chocobo Dodger and Lightning mini-games are so annoying that I created a permanent save state before taking on Sin. So when I play through again, I play to that point and then swap to the save file where I unloced the Celestial Weapons. I'm not doing those games again.

Back in the day, Caladbolg was really hard for me to get. It wasn't because of the sun sigil, it was the sun crest. I didn't pick it up after I had beaten Yunalesca so when I went back, well you all know what is waiting for you in that room.

Small correction to note regarding the butterfly hunt in FFX: You can still get the sigil for Kimahri’s ultimate weapon if you touch a red butterfly; all it does is subtract a few seconds from your remaining time so as long as you catch/touch all the blue butterflies, that’s all that matters.

Caladbolg is so incredibly easy to get. That chocobo race just isn't as hard as people say it is. 3 steps. Step 1, learn the map. This should take you about 1-2 races. Step 2, get used to camera change/movements/birds. This should take you a few more races. Step 3, wait for luck. It doesn't take forever. I've gotten a time of 0:00 more than 10 times (I've played many times with different versions and starting over after long breaks). Just dodge those birds and get lucky that the other racer is behind you. You will win.

Love to see the coverage on opera omnia, been playing for a couple years now and love it. It's challenging but the Dev group is so responsive and new content constantly. Also, BT plus finishers can be used by each character with a 3/3 BT plus but as stated normal burst phase is 1 per fight.

Last play through, I got the sun sigil on my first attempt. The playthrough before that, I got it on my second attempt. There are 5-6 different maps of where the balloons are placed. There are 2 that I can tell you right at the start have the possibility of being a winning run.

I agree that it'll be impossible for me to get the Colossus Totem and another note you left out: To even get access to the Epic of Alexander, you have to clear the duty called Eden's Gate: Sepulture (Savage), which requires a lot of quests to get Eden's Gate Sepulture, and then you have to do a quest to unlock the Savage version, and that raid is a very difficult boss fight with a mutated version of the primal Titan, and the Savage Version has two phases. If you can't clear this savage raid, you'll never unlock The Epic of Alexander.

I struggled so much recently with that chocobo race and no walk through was helping. After a few days, I found a new walkthrough that explained the map of the race and how the controls work in each part of the map. I finished the race perfectly less than 5 minutes later. It’s not hard, no one goes over the mechanics and their behaviors and the fact the controls change at the last stretch. It was insanely easy.

Are there any weapons that requires GBF's Fully upgraded Revenant Characters level of grinding? To describe it step by step... 1. You need to draw the desired weapon's weakest form from an event-only gacha (event's recurring, iirc it's monthly or bi-monthly, the gacha runs on a special currency dropped by the event's mobs) 2. Get that weapon again three more times to feed to that weapon to uncap it to the limit 3. Feed that weapon to level it up to level 100 4. Grind out several common/low rare materials to Awaken the weapon 5. Get a pretty rare "rusted weapon" of the same type of the weapon you want to upgrade 6. Get that same rusted weapon again or use a special utility item to uncap it three times 7. Feed the rusted weapon a pretty high amount of very common items to turn it into an elemental relic 8. Upgrade the main weapon's skill to level 10 by feeding it other weapons with skill or recycled skill points from "reserving" said fodder weapons 9. Feed the relic and some mid-level semi-rare material to the weapon to change its element 10. Grind rare monsters to get fourteen rare weapons and a lot of in-game money and a common material to upgrade the shop (If you decide to make another weapon, the shop will already be upgraded once you reach this point again) 11. GRIND hundreds and hundreds and HUNDREDS of semi-rare materials, like, there's a spreadsheet the community made just for this, feed all that to the weapon to upgrade it 12. Defeat the character associated with the weapon and get that character (Depending on the weapon, it can be pretty hard) 13. Uncap that character four times with either more materials or using rare utility item 14. Level the character up to level 80 15. Fight the character again, this time in a duel and win 16. Bring that character to grind a special quest until it randomly unlocks another special quest with a rather powerful boss, beat it with the character in the party, hope that special boss drops either the Silver Relic or just grind the single Silver Relic Shard you get each time, get either four Silver Relic straight this way or trade ten shards for a relic, either way, you'll need four of these relic 17. Feed three of the Silver Relics to one so it's almost fully uncapped 18. Break other weapons to turn them to weapon stones of the same type, you'll need 300 of these stones 19. Break summons (It's not much different from weapons, just a different category) of each element (There are six in the game) until you have 300 elemental quartzes of each element 20. Feed the items from step 18 and 19 into the Silver Relic or use a very rare item to uncap the Silver Relic fully 21. Level the Silver Relic to level 150 22. Farm high rarity materials, including one of the rarest in-game 23. Repeat steps 5 through 7 over again to get an elemental relic of each element 24a. Repeat steps 1 through 11 over again, this requires the rarest material in the game 24b. Repeat steps 1 through 9 over again ten times, this doesn't require the goddamn gold brick... 25a. Destroy the original weapon and all weapons you made from step 24 25b. Repeat step 24 and destroy the weapons you made from this step 26. Feed the Silver Relic all the stuff from step 22, the elemental relics from step 23, and the fragments you get from step 25 to turn it into a Golden Relic 27. Destroy the Golden Relic to get a Weapon Soul 28. Start a special quest where the character duels their weapon and win 29. Gather several rare materials to uncap the character a final time 30. Beat the other nine top-tier characters as your character, then battle the character you choose like in step 15 but harder
