Thanks for checking out the video. I find myself gravitating to less credit cards lately too. Perhaps it's a sign of the times (i.e., the pandemic). However, I rather like carrying less cards in my wallets as well. 😊

I met someone with the Centurion Card. You more or less get it for the perks. Need a ride to the airport and get the backdoor treatment? AMEX got you. Want tickets to a sold out show? AMEX got you. See a timepiece somewhere and you think the price isn't quite right? You get the picture. If you have that much money to spend you dont really care about points. Like the platinum card isn't the best for point earning. But I do like the fact that I can get a free meal with Uber every month and if I rent a car I can get low cost premium insurance on it.

You're probably right. Most Centurion cardmembers are probably less concerned about the points and more interested in the perks and prestige associated with the card. 🤑

Chase should increase the benefits of the JP Morgan card and offer it to their private banking customers and/or Sapphire Reserve Card customers. At the moment, the different between their private banking and sapphire banking is the private banking gets a free safe deposit box.

I totally agree! I suspect there is a more personalized touch with private banking, but it's hard to quantify what that actually means in terms of customer experience. 🤓

Little surprised about the JP Morgan card where clients need 10M+ in Private Banking / Wealth Management. At @6:21, the JP Morgan card is a Visa Signature (although - hard to tell, @6:31, it could be an Infinite Visa Card). And at @9:53, the Sapphire Reserve is an Infinite and the JP Morgan example shows Signature. I would think an "exclusive" card would be a top tier Visa (or MasterCard) card.

I cancelled my amex gold card recently and avoided the annual fee - I would've liked it to be my erryday main card but after exhausting the perks (and $900 welcome bonus), I found what was left did not justify keeping it. If anything it added to my frivolous spending tbh

It's definitely a good idea to review the value at the end of each cardmember year. It's easy to get sucked into all the benefits, but the individual value of those benefits can often change depending on your lifestyle. I know for us, the pandemic and having kids changed what we valued in our cards.

Great video, but the jp morgan reserve info is outdated. The chase and jp morgan reserve cards are the same price....the 10 million dollar is not accurate as well as the card is available to prospects and private bank employees as well. Cool features of the reserve is 0 fees for atm withdrawals and United lounge access.

It's possible. But someone in that situation would likely want to work directly with a bank to apply (so they can give underwriting more context).

The Luxury card Mastercard is a total joke. Most luxury cards you get are for rewards or the concierge services. This card has neither. Their rewards suck and they have no concierge service.

I agree! I would much rather have one of the premium (non-exclusive) cards from Chase, Amex, or Capital One. The value of the benefits is definitely clearer than these expensive prestige cards.
