Contracting is a great and profitable career! I am almost done with my civil engineering degree, and math and physics skills are necessary, but like anything else they can be LEARNED. Get help, do the practice problems, and you will learn the material. If it is still not your thing, get a Construction Engineering Technology education, or work under a contractor until you learn the skills. You can still have a career in civil projects, but the math gets worked out by engineers that work with you. and for you.

Hello Sir! i wanted some information from you.Sir i am 16 years old and i am doing O levels currently afyer that i'll do O2 and then A levels sir i wanted to know that if i want to be a civil engineer what courses should i do? how much time will it take? and how much i will be payed per month.
@Ali_Hassan2937 жыл бұрын
I am capable everything well you dont have to tackle any subjects if you're good in maths and physics☺
@JakeVoorhees7 жыл бұрын
You should take calculus, physics, chemistry, and as many advanced placement classes as possible. Engineering ciriculums are challenging so the more difficult classes you take, the better for sure.
@mzorkea7 жыл бұрын
if you are an O level student and you are good at Math, Physics and Chemistry, you are good to go for the long run. To be a civil engineer you need to enroll in a university civil engineering programme. Courses you will learn there will give you a better perspective to become a civil engineer and decide your major for masters. Know this, it is difficult to secure admission in a university compared to study and get good grades in the university. A really important advice i'll give you is make the most of your high school life right now, make friends, hang out with them, play and enjoy life with family and friends because you will probably miss it when you become an engineer (or just when you start to work).

Doesn't software engineers or computer engineers get paid more? How much do civil engineers make entry level
@JakeVoorhees7 жыл бұрын
They all do pretty well, engineers are at the top compared to average salaries. You should not choose an engineering pathway because of pay, because that's not what will motivate you to succeed, and that will not enable you to perform to be great, which is required to get paid a lot. You have to ensure your interests and personal skills are applicable to that industry, and then once you can connect these, go down that road. For example, I would not be a very successful software or chemical engineer, because I am not great at those subjects. However, even though on average civil engineers make less, I am a passionate leader in this industry, have dominated a niche, and make more $$$ because I'm in an industry where I personally can win. You need to discover which field of engineering is the best fit for you, and pursue it! I have made lots of videos about this subject :)

Yes in India maybe that may be true, but in western countries it's the exact opposite. An engineering degree almost guarantees you a job
