Batman is used to fighting people with severe mental illness thanks to his gallery of supervillains having some form of it or another. Even Two-Face has DID like Moon Knight. While it's true Batman is unrelenting and ruthless against them, time and time again he's shown that he does feel compassion for them on varies levels: Joker's the only expectation. It's why he allows villains like Harley Quinn the chance to *try* and be better or at least accept the flaws within themselves, understanding they'll never be on the same moral ground. Still the fact that they try is enough for Batman to leave them be. He'll always have contingency plans, but Batman can and will leave people alone if he's convinced that they deserve it. That's Moon Knight's best chance at defeating Batman without resorting to the "kill" option.
