OH YES, AND I DIDNT MEAN TO DO IT, So I'm a Small Streamer That Has Literally No Mods For The Chat...And The Chat Is Usually Pretty Slow, Mostly For That Stream... I Was Definitely Confused As There Are Usually 2 Chatters, But This Time Non...So I Went On To Google (i love google for this) To See Why No One Is Chatting... One Of The Reasons Was: "You Are Not Using a Mic." I Checked My Mic And BOOM, It Was On Mute. Nice Job Me ;) After All, This Is One Of My Most Important Things To Check...Is My Mic On?

Big tip I use for remembering to end stream after a raid is once we go raid out I have a multi command key on my Stream Deck that switches to the Stream Ending scene and plays music for 60 seconds then it completely shuts off the stream and recording and turns my lights off. If anyone has a stream deck or a good alternative would highly recommend programming in a multi command feature that’s similar, it’s been a lifesaver and haven’t made that mistake since! Also, always A+ video Eljay, as many others have said your KZbin content has been incredibly helpful on this streaming journey and I find your advise invaluable. Thank you for all the hard work you put into your content, you’re really helping people take their content to the next level dude! 🙏🏼

When I prepare for a stream I've taken your advise and gotten a notepad, and I write down, the stream title, the go live notification and the talking points for the stream. It has helped me become more organised. I won't lie I have had technical issues on streams too many times and that's perhaps where I'm going wrong. It make take some time before I see some change but this has been really insightful. And yes I have had that where for the first 30 mins my stream had no mic audio and it wasn't until someone joined the stream and pointed out before I discovered it myself. It was a massive feels bad.

So I was stuck on this level in Dark Souls and it was driving me nuts because everytime I stream it, I make little to no progress on stream. After watching one of your videos about trying to introduce more content besides just clicking live, I decided that I was going to attempt doing a Hangman game with viewers that would activate every time I died on Dark Souls. I don't have a gaming PC so I literally bought a bulletin board and we printed out pictures of our favorite anime or cartoon characters to use as the hangman. To be able to participate you would have to use your Redemption reward points, like a hundred something cheap, and then me and one of my mods would write a list of the people who bought tickets in order so every time I died we would just look at the list and they would get the pic the letter. This performed really well and my few people that watch me really enjoyed it. I would imagine that with more viewers this would probably be really awesome

Great tips! Would you consider doing a video about hat happens after you press "go live"? There are bazillions of videos that talk about how to set up your streams that always end with, "And then just press go live!" and fade to black. I want a video about what happens during a live stream, how you adjust on the fly, switching between windows, dealing with problems.

I get home from work between 7:30-7:45am, take the dog out, feed pets, put away lunchbox/clean dishes, change into comfy clothes, and try to get the "starting soon" screen up by 8:30am. I try to stick to a 2hr stream so that I can then get to bed by 11am to wake up at 5pm and do family evening and then head off to work again. All that to say my time is excessively limited on stream days. I don't have time for more than "click and go" and then play games and shoot the breeze with friends. If you were going to make a "Top 3 Things" to do before a stream, what are THE most important ones for a small streamer who intends to stay small and do this as a hobby?

Oh Yea I've muted myself for a "Brb" and like 3 times outta 10 I will come back think I pressed the button to unmute, and then find out that I was muted the whole time, on the plus side my chat is pretty understanding and we all just laugh it off :)

I have it set so that obs will mute on brb and unmute when I go back to chat or game scenes. Might be something to try it you have touchportal or a stream deck

Thankyou for the tips. I used to be after followers and do things like follow for follow but now almost everyone who says something in the chat returns for the next stream and I’ve only been streaming for 4 days.

Lost what little confidence I had built up using a mic, but still hit the watch button so fast cause I love watching Eljayem. 😆😅

😂😂😂😂 I told my stream I’d be back to answer a phone call and it was the results of my car being ready. I though the mic was muted because I was using the Elgato 3, but it wasn’t set up in stream labs and they heard the whole conversation. The jokes from this were priceless

I do my best to follow your advice but it’s also really difficult when I only can use a console and mobile I still try to change and improve things since I don’t have a PC or Laptop

Hi! I love your videos man! They help me out a lot :)! So I’m a small Dutch streamer and I want to stream Nintendo games but because I stream in Dutch don’t get many viewers when I play them. Should I keep streaming them? Or should I choose another category so I can grow faster?

As you can guess, there are a lot more people watching English streams but also a lot more English speaking competition. It might also be harder for you to speak fluent English and be entertaining, I don’t know your situation obviously. Speaking your own language means less competition but also a ceiling for growth eventually. It might be easier to speak it and be entertaining at least. These are the trade-offs of speaking English vs your own, and at the end of the day you just have to do what you’re comfortable with and use the right tags/language settings so people can find you. Good luck!

Another Great Video! Quick question, Have you ever considered Trimming your Videos to increase replay value. Not sure if you can on Twitch but this is something I do on Facebook Gaming.
@StreamScheme3 жыл бұрын
Not for Twitch, I don't see much point in it currently, trimming them down wouldn't perform overly well, since my content isn't based on search intent over on Twitch.

Hi Eljayem, I've been trying to add music to my streams. Sadly the spotify option doesn't exist anymore, even thought they have copyright free music. So I wondered if it's possible any other way that wouldn't get my CPU too high? I thought maybe downloading the music... I'm a beginner, I've only streamed twice so far but I'm chatting and after watching the replay I feel like I really need music... Thank you so much!

Thanks Eljay! You are awesome! An unrelated question to this specific video, I used a song by Young Bae recommended by you on another video but they muted that part of my video, I’ve appealed the mute but they haven’t responded. Has this happened to you? Is this going to happen every time I use his music? 😥😢

I commented and edited the description on the DMCA video, his new record label is muting some of his songs, I only use the older ones and I have the tweet saved just in case. It is a shame honestly! #earlygang

heyo i know this isn't a recent video. but, i've been watching a lot of your videos recently, taking all of your tips to heart. not fully done with changes, no where close actually. but, i know what i need to change and i'm making that happen. i'd love your help and more personalized tips if that chance opens up, but i'll make sure i will be creating my best content after watching these videos first lol

The microphone thing happened to me a couple weeks ago. Did an 8-hour stream with no mic audio. Watched parts of my VOD on parts where I KNEW I was talking, but didn't hear anything. Somehow OBS wasn't picking it up. That was the first thing I checked next stream, and things were fine after that.

I'm planning on doing a (I think) unique challenge run on pokémon! I want to plan this challenge around being able to make it into to KZbin video in Smallant style, but obviously with my own unique twist. I'm really finding a new type of love for planning my stream content for purposes of editing them down into more entertaining bits of content than the stream already is. #earlygang

I am so lucky to have a few dedicated viewers on my youtube streams that will remind me within the first 5 minutes if I forgot my mic 😅 I've done entire intros that I thought were my best and smoothest and then realized that the mic wasn't on... 🤦♂️ One day I might have enough animal crossing streams under my belt to remember my checklist 😆

Just wrapped up my first week streaming and I have absolutely loved your videos. Took a while to get going but now that I'm in it, I love it. The big question for me is, my game. It's pretty crowded. I just feel like it'll be so hard to get discovered. When would you call it quits on a game and try something new?

If you aren't seeing consistent and actually decent growth from a category, it might be better to refocus :) #earlygang
