@BoardgamesforOneКүн бұрын
Good choices. I'd like to know more about Niya and Naishi.
@gadzooks2763Күн бұрын
@@BoardgamesforOne Niya is also published as Okiya, and it uses the artwork of Hanafuda cards to create a 4×4 grid for Tic Tac Toe. When you play your O or X to a space, your remove the Hanafuda tile from that space. Moves are constrained by the two icons on the previously displaced tile - you have to place at a tile that shares one of those icons. First to 4-in-a-row (or a 2×2 cluster) wins! Naishi comes out in August of this year and I am SO PUMPED for it. You have to take turns with your opponent to rearrange cards between the center river, your open hand, and your closed hand to try and create the most point-maximizing tableau by the end of the game. It looks extremely simple and relaxed.

I totally agree on Cascadia and Harmonies. For solo cozy games I would add Coffee Roaster, At the Gates of Loyang (I play it only solo) and Forage. For multiplayer cozy games I would add Viticulture - it is for more experienced players, you can play it hard-core race-style, but you can also play it cozy side by side, take your time and enjoy making wines😊🎉

I'd say my favorite cozy games (in alphabetical order) are Canvas, Escape the Dark Castle, First in Flight, Flamecraft, Parks, and The White Castle. I know Escape the Dark Castle is a weird theme to find relaxing, but it taps into my love of the old choose your own adventure games I devoured as a kid. Spooky artwork and all.😅 The White Castle is also a bit more crunchy than most would probably put on this list, but it's a weirdly feel good game for me. Thanks for sharing! I haven't tried several of the games on your list yet, so I'll have to see if one of my friends have any of them in their collection.

I own and have played all these games. Love Harmonies, but both my husband and I do not like Flamecraft. We were very let down. We enjoyed Cascadia, but we replaced it with Ecosystem as it seems to deliver a similar experience with less “stuff”, just cards in a tableau. I do feel I would Have chose Splendor over Sagrada, but not sure one can play solo. I never play solo, so that is not a factor for me. A game that should top this list is DorfRomantik, I find it to be the most relaxing game I’ve ever played. Great on a coffee table, with friends or solo, I imaging it is just as relaxing.
@BoardgamesforOne2 күн бұрын
@@sassyspahr492 what let you down in Flamecraft? I entered blind fortunately so there wasn’t an issue expectation like I sometimes have. Ecosystem is a new title for me, thank you. Splendor and Sagrada, good swap for shiny collecting and placement. I’ve seen the art of DorfRomantic and it sure does look lovely. Haven’t played.
@sassyspahr4922 сағат бұрын
@ We found Flamecraft repetitive. We would have liked “more” in the game. I love heavy games, but do not get them to the table often, but thought Flamecraft could be a good option. We just both didn’t feel the love. If I wanted to play with little dragons I would choose Dungeon Petz over it, or Wyrmspan. Not sure they are dragons, but similar. I highly recommend DorfRomantik if you want a relaxing game. I love heavy, but I enjoy this easy puzzle game. Being a co-op, you can discuss every placement, but people can pop in and out as they choose. It is my number 1 for non-gamers. I will literally tell them it’s a puzzle with a twist, lol:)

I liked the look of the dice one about the stained glass. But, I received a few games for the holidays as gifts from friends or from me to me. So I don't want to spend anymore money.. I have two that I want to play that would fit this category, but are still in in their wrapping. Firstly there's Coffee Roaster (single play only) and the other one which I'm bound to get the words in the wrong order is Cat Mouse Cheese Cucumber which is multiplayer and solo-play (very cheap and quick to learn). I've also just received Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion as a nicer entry to that series but wouldn't think it was a cozy kinda game.
