@@andrewhodgeson8006 Exactly. Google sometimes makes bad decisions. Like first removing SMS from the Hangouts app then removing Hangouts altogether. Giving messaging option in KZbin. KZbin message was a great feature, then they removed it as well. Then, this, giving us the option to organise messages based on their types in Google messages and then removing that as well. I wonder why Google does this, deliberately taking away good things.

I hope it's the type of feature that gets added to RCS Universal Profile itself tbh. That way Apple has to support it as well by default. Cuz chances are if it was up to them to implement it, that's probably how they'll make RCS appear "inferior" to iMessage, by not implementing it for RCS chats. I can totally see them pulling crap like that.

Do it, you probably won't go back to Apple. I won't! So much more freedom! Apps wherever you want on the home screen Pausing while recording videos Choice of face ID or touch ID Choice of using gestures or having a small three button navigation at the bottom so you have a home button etc. But still all screen Google Assistant instead of Siri There are so many reasons I left Apple and I'm never going back! My Pixel 8 Pro is awesome!

I've been testing out RCS with a couple of my friends and it's been nothing short of amazing!!! The UI is out of this world! I'm in India so no one uses iMessages or Messages for that matter. Some features I hope to see are: 1. Edit and delete messages 2. Create categories in the app

I still use their Google Chat as my main texting app with my family. Google is still a mess as they still have 3 messaging apps, 4 if you count Google chat for work. 1. Google Messages SMS and RCS 2. Google Chat (Gmai) 3. Google Voice (VOIP) *4. Google Chat Work Edition/Current. Idk they rebrand all the time.

Why suddenly is there no way to change the background of the messaging window, or the color of the chat bubbles???? It used to be that I could easily add a custom background, instead of just black or white. Why oh why would Google delete that???? ALLOW PEOPLE TO CUSTOMIZE AS THEY LIKE GOOGLE!!!!! We should be able to make the conversation bubbles any colors we want, and change their transparency. Give people the power of customizing. It's what the entire phone industry is about. We all customize our phones and every app to our own liking. Why is Google falling behind in this????

What i think the greatest improvement to texting would be a return to messages that continue to try to send when we're out of cell signal until we're back in signal and the message is sent. Instead of instantly failing to send and it's having to remember to manually resnd the message when we return to signal. You know, like they way they always did before. Up until a few years ago.

Is like the ability to link a Google account and be able to communicate using RCS from that account, even without a phone number. iMessage allows also using an email address, so something similar is what I'm referring to

I've had them for a while now. Except full screen animations... Profiles are cool and save me time from having to make profile pics for contacts. I reactions are cool and add a layer of fun to conversations. RCS just needs to become more reliable and it'll be straight.

RCS is inconsistent. Every other day someone I message is not able to get messages and has to turn off RCS and turn it back on later. Connection is definitely not an issue because it even happens while in the same room.

I'm still using Textra because of the larger input field. Every feature that made me use it has been added to Messenger, but I can't be onboard until the input field is a few to several rows taller. I feel like I'm working on an old electric typewriter when a one or two line display was added to scroll text before printing.

Pretty sure I can make that part bigger on any messages app by jus dragging the bar to the size u want. On every cheap phone I had I could do that. Or pinch to zoom on messenger

@@dmo848 I didn't mean a larger font, I'm waiting for more characters to be shown. Textra shows about 4 times as many characters before scrolling the beginning of what I type out of view. Hopefully this makes sense.

I've been using Textra almost since their beginning. Used the big sister app Chomp for a couple of years before that. 2 Pixel phones, 1 OnePlus, 1 Nexus and a few HTC's before that. I always try the stock messaging app on a new phone and always end up going back to Textra. Most recently because i can forward up to 10 pictures at one time instead of only 1 with Google. Also RCS was completely horrible, messages were never received even tho it told me that they were sent and received, pictures would take several hours to download and i still could not send a video that was over ten seconds long.

Another thing should be able to better control is the data size allowed to receive and send. I have unlocked Fold 4 my wife has a T-Mobile Fold 4 hers gets 1000mb but mines is stuck at 150mb I wonder why that is.

I am an iPhone user because of the fact that I am blind, and iPhones are the only phones that have voice on them. Voiceover is a screen reading program that you do not have to buy an addition to the phone plus iPhones are all made by one company, whereas androids, you’ve got many different companies making android phones, so I use iPhone that is my preferred phone. I'm not sure if you'd be able to answer this, but why do all of the photos, gifs, and voice messages I receive come to me as a group message between myself, the sender and my phone number as a separate person? I really wish I could just have ONE thread with the person I'm communicating with and not have to go between the 2 threads. Any idea how to fix that or if it's even been brought up?

It would be nice if they would impliment the ability to add a custom wallpaper to each message thread like we have in samsung messages. So like for my text thread with my wife I can have a picture of her as the background in that message thread and then a text thread with my brother I can have an image of him as the background for those messages. That would be nice for Google to add that feature and custom text alerts for differnt people like on Samsung.

For groupchat whenever I wanna add someone to a group it creates a separate group instead of adding them to the current group why is that Are messages encrypted. Is this app safe and secure to use. Been using Google Messages for over a year on a s23U. Larger / full resolution files up to 105MB are possible when sending to another person also on Google messages (similar to iPhone iMessage to iMessage). Video restrictions is because you are sending via MMS. When sending a file > 105MB or to a non Google messages user, you can also share a large file via Samsung quickshare link

I have used Google messages for ever but when they change settings and add toolbars for emogies I don’t use I don’t need a teenage girl messaging system I use big boy words. Remove the tool bar from the typing it was clean before now it looks ridiculous.
