Playing 7 first made 4 brutal with the amount of deaths and sacrifices. :c
@vincentgraymore4 жыл бұрын
The OG was way more brutal. People actually died and the sector 7 catastrophe was way worse than in the remake where they are basically rebuilding it the day after, even finding a broken wooden sign that should be beneath an ocean of concrete, metal and dead bodies. The remake is very much light-hearted and chickens out on many things, most notably the trail of blood in the Shinra building. They say it was to get a lower CERO rating but it also undercut the theme and tension of the OG. While I understand the decision I would have been perfectly fine with seeing the fleeing people in sector 7 get crushed and seeing dead scientists in the Shinra building and wanted more destruction than in the original (more claw marks on the walls etc). As it is going now the Midgard Zolom is not going to be impaled (or at least no blood) and no people are going to die in Gold saucer and Aerith is not gonna...

Also me: "I'm a composer and I never heard of "the puzzle piece method". I could only trace this terminology back to an interview with Nobuo Uematsu, where he described writing short segments of the song before piecing them together like a puzzle. Not as an official music composing method." Also also me: "I must've completely misunderstood this, but I thought Sephiroth said he was a Cetra. Since Ifalna is the last Cetra, she must be his biological mother and Lucrecia is just his carrier mother. That would mean Aerith and Sephiroth share the same mother and are half siblings. I guess I was wrong all those years."
@randalthor28594 жыл бұрын
Aerith and Sephiroth aren't siblings. Sephiroths parents are Professor Hojo, and Lucrecia. Aeriths parents are Professor Ghast, and Ilfana. Sephiroth thought he was a Cetra because Shinra did research on Jenova and thought she was a Cetra. Shinra was wrong about Jenova being a Cetra though. The truth is that Jenova was an alien, the great calamity that fell from the sky that created the Northern Crater.

Did anyone notice that Bugenhagen says "Eventually... All humans die." This is almost a direct quote that Aerith in the remake uses when looking at the Lifestream energy from everyone who died in the plate fall. She says "Everyone dies eventually."

It was nice to see a video do what it actually claimed. I would venture a guess that it would be a small portion of the fan base that knew all of this. As someone that is hardcore about the FF7 franchise (it is my favorite game of all time), I am truly glad that information like this is being put out there. Usually when I run across these videos it is some lame video about stuff people have known about for years.

As absolutely METAL as it would have been to have everyone in the cast just DIE except your final 3, I do think it would have upset more people than impress, since it doesn't seem telegraphed and out of your control. Through no fault of your own, your characters die, no battle for their life, no qte, no dialogue options to change who lives or dies. Just arbitrarily "fuck you"

I flipped my shit to learn Yuffie was originally gonna be ex soldier.. Holy fuck... Wow... I need the reality stone so I can go and experience the game where this happens (among other things). Everything else is pretty cool too.. The idea of Sephiroth and Aerith being brother and sister is interesting.. Yeah, I really need the reality stone. Oh since I brought up the stones... Tifa has her own infinity gauntlet. I am not the first to do or say this and I shall not be the last but I had to make my obligatory fangirl comment.

Personally I think the hardest part about Aerith's death compared to other games was how she had no replacement. Other games give you a carbon copy the next scene. Like Cait Sith 2 the most carbon copy of any JRPG death replacement.

Final Fantasy VI deserves the remake overhaul after FF7R. It was one of the greatest, underrated FF titles ever created for its time. With a grand ensemble cast of 20 playable characters (some of which are optional and one that could accidentally be killed off) and a story that has the villain *seemingly win* and terraform the world into an apocalyptic landscape, it deserves its place in the hall of legends. Let's call it *FINAL FANTASY XVI* in celebration of its new life.
@Borgdrohne134 жыл бұрын
20? You mean 14

The fact FFVI was so immensely massive is exactly why it will probably never get a real remake. Alot of the stuff you see in FFXV was a direct homage to FFVI, and look just how much they had to cut to get the game out. You are literally on a train for half the story in FF15 because everything they had planned for it just made the game take forever to develop to modern standards. This is also the reason we needed a whole game for just the Midgar section in the FF7 Remake, and why they had to do the wisps of fate thing - because they're going to have to cut alot from FF7's plot to make it to the finishing line at some point. The wisps is no doubt part of their method for explaining why so much stuff won't be happening this time around. In FF15 you can literally see the other 3 open world maps they had planned for it, in the small sections you can travel too within those maps for the story quests (look at your map screen), not to mention how they literally did the whole world-ending thing again (as a direct homage to FF6), that was supposed to be the halfway point of the game, but they had to streamline it all to the last act where, once again, while you can see the world fallen into darkness, you can't travel very far in it outside going directly to the final questline (you consider the other 3 open world maps we never got, that means they actually cut 8 from FF15, a total of 5 pre-apocalypse and 5 post-apocalypse maps were clearly originally planned, but in the end they had to leave us with just the 2 pre-apocalypse maps). Surely that's not what you would want from a FF6 Remake? For them to have to cut 80% of the game? A proper FF6 Remaster is a more reasonable prospect, however. Wouldn't say no to some refined graphics (please not like the FF5 Steam/Mobile remaster though) and voice overs. Maybe the odd balance tweak.

It is not underrated at all. It’s considered one of the greatest jrpgs of all time and one of the best games on the snes period. And there were 14 characters. And the ff7R is awful.

Maybe that fact about the endgame where the player chooses three characters to finish the game with, will feature in the remake?
@SubduedRadical4 жыл бұрын
So Yuffie was originally designed to be a much more in-depth Amarant (FF9) bounty hunter chasing after the main characters. Not gonna lie, I wish there was another former SOLDIER character in the game that fit that position, as that's kinda cool. Kalm was ALSO a Nibelheim...from 5 years earlier. The ATB has a global timer, but also a speed modifier for each character based on their speed stat but ALSO two other timers, and different status effects actually use different timers to determine their total length. Compared to most FF games having 5-10 elements, FF7 had 16, and of those, only 9 (a little more than half) were clearly displayed to the player. There were advertisements at the time, some of which were were a little nuts. There were a few references to FF6. There was some thought on killing off all but three characters (the player would pick 3 when parachuting into Midgaar, and the ones not picked would be killed off before the end of the game), but this was vetoed. ....and there were a lot of other little micro-facts thrown in. Regardless, some of these I knew, but some i did not. Cool stuff. :D
