I'll be nitpicky for a second but its dark chocolate that is dangerous to dogs as that's what contains the highest concentration of theobromine, the chemical contained in chocolate that is poisonous to dogs. White chocolate being mostly just sugar and dairies it contains very, very little theobromine (or chocolate at all for that matter). It also takes a fairly substantial amount of theobromine to really be dangerous, relative to the dog's size of course. Its still not a good idea to feed a dog like Rinoa does but she's not killing Angelo :P

Final fantasy 8 was impressive back in the day and still holds up. I watched my dad get to the last sorceress fight but he was slightly underleveled. During lock down i started to play it again and im now on the last disc. There was alot i still remembered from 20 years ago and the nostalgia was brilliant. It still holds up to this day
@weebjeez3 жыл бұрын
The problem, most likely, is that your dad was OVERleveled. Because of the way that the game scales enemies off your level. Eventually, if you grind too much, the enemies begin to outscale your ability to match them, even with the best junction abilities equipped. It's why a common method of completing the game is to run from every fight you can, and facing optional bosses as soon as physically possible, keeping Diabolo's "No Encounter" ability on, at all times. By leveling up your GFs with enemies that give high AP (like Fastochion-F's, who appear on Balamb Beach), you can still get high-level magic without drawing them from enemies, by having your GF learn Refine abilites, and refining items you get from Triple Triad.

Oh this video was so fun. Just wanted to share a though. I always loved how Julia and Laguna's story love never saw resolution, but their children continued what they never got to experience. Their love did in fact meet, through them. That always brings a tear to my eye, although I think it is never directly mentioned. All the tender music we hear in this game... is so full of precious feelings. Tis' sbut a detail. And it's nice to see they were so invested in these titles. So much merchandise and branches off their title.

Back in the day, I had a gaming magazine that had hints, tips and strategies in it. One of them had a code in it in order to access the FFVIII debug room. (I think you needed a Game Shark in order for it to work) In that room, you could explore different aspects of the game. One of which, allowed you to acquire every summon, every spell (Including Apocalypse), Item and weapon/ammo (including Irvine's devastating Pulse Ammo) without having to fight any monsters or bosses. You could EASILY and VERY quickly, acquire 99 of every item. Not gonna lie, in the end, that was how i ended up defeating the game, because i was getting too anxious and was tired of drawing & stocking spells all the time. XD

Do you know: A single Malboro can traumatize a child so deeply he started to take frequent saves and pay more attention to status effect defences for the rest of his life? No joke, I still remember vividly after exiting the moon launching facility, I lost 4-hour of unsaved progress to a Malboro. What I can do is smashing buttons while all of my characters can do nothing, and their HP slowly fall to zero.

8 gets a bad rap, but it's still my favorite Final Fantasy. The music and art style are amazing, and I even like the wonky story. The draw system can be annoying, but I don't mind wasting some time stocking up on magic. I don't usually use magic in this game, just stock up enough to junction 3 characters plus a few extra cure & life spells for emergencies.

One thing people probably don't know is how FF8 was the first FF to get released with an actual Italian translation here in Italy and it became really popular because of that, it was so popular that a couple of FF italian fansites were inspired by it such as Rinoa's Diary and Zellfantasy (now known as Omnia Crystallis). And an other instresting fact still tied to the Italian version of FF8: in the bestiary you can find an unused monster used for debug and testing called "Dummy", it has its own entrance in the bestiary (aka Scan info screen) where the translator left an hidden message wich is: This translation is killin’ me. It’s almost two in the morning. I’m sleepy!!!! I’m sleepy!!!!

You could acces ALL the magic via the Triple Triad card game. There is even a lets play / tutorial how to do so from the youtuber Mike Bettencourt and you could get (almost)end game stats early on disc 1 and actuall endgame stats start of disc 2. It purely uses the card refinery ability and you had to keep from leveling, by turning monsters into cards which results in NO XP gain/ONLY AP gain, untill end disc 1 (while fighting bosses you do actually defeat them instead turning them into cards so you had to take that XP). Once I found this out, it really made me see that the character level in FF8 is so much secondary in comparisment with junctioned magics.

Always thought the Draw system was interesting but it kind of held you back in some ways. So if you junction magic you get stat increases but if you use those spells you loose those stats, so you wouldn't cast spells. I feel it was like a hoarder style system that gives you something but doesn't expect you to use it and will punish you if you do. Also the magic felt lack-luster and only effective at the beginning of the game. Like after the Seed Exam there was no reason to cast anything other than the occasional healing, unless you broke the game with Triple Triad as soon as you can in which the game is a joke. It's a good idea but has some issues that minor changes could fix.

Fun fact - opening the menu on the world map will tell you the name of the region you are in, so all those names on the map really are in the game, there just isn't a map you can look at that names them. Gotta be there to see the name.

I mean, the regions of the world map show up in the menu when you bring it up on the overworld - just like each screen of each location has a name (though those were often not unique - I think all the Fire Cavern screens except the entrance are just Fire Cavern, for instance) But regarding regions, the region name was one of the things that determined the enemy encounter table, so if you're hunting a specific weapon part, Blue Magic item or item to refine, that was very important information. The other modifiers were certain locations - beaches and forests both had unique encounter maps separate from the wider area (which is why, for example, the UFO in the Grandidi forest is only accessible by landing on one of the tree-less mesas - the majority of that area is forest and uses the forest encounter table). I'd always thought there was a unique encounter near mountains as well because on Balamb, the Glacial Eye can be encountered but only if you're up against the mountain range in the north. But from that map, that particular mountain range is a specific area separate from the rest of the island. I think I remember seeing a different backdrops, with some mountains relatively close by (just like how forest battles are in a forest clearing and beach battles are on a sandy beach) as well, but I could be mistaken on that front - Glacial Eyes aren't all that useful so I generally just avoided the area.

you 'can' actualy kill the spider boss in dollet, you have to be a prety high level for that point, get to the bridge, then wail on it...rumor says there is 'supposed' to be a scene at that point where if you do enough damage it malfunctions and falls off the bridge to its destruction, but weather that rumor was ever true is hard to say as it does not happen in game, the machine simply dies, and you get 100 extra points on your feild exam score as a result, other then that though it has very little impact on the game other then causeing a certain section in dollet when you visit later to not be present (the wreck on the beach)

Final Fantasy VIII was the 1st FF I played religiously way even before my love for FF7 sky rocketed. I was always fascinated with the guidebooks and magazines that featured the Guardian Forces and up to this day, I have no idea what Eden's face looks like. All I know is it had the longest summon animation at that time and it was glorious to see Eden's Eternal Breath thanks to YT. Never had the balls to draw from Ultimecia since when I saw her, I had Irvine go ballistics with her and finish her time-stopping @ss with renzokuken.
