The main complaint I heard from walking pad is that it died just after people's warranties were up. I really like the folding feature but it doesn't seem as durable overall.

my Walking Pad C1 started trembling, think it’s the motor and I’ve had it a little over a year. Looking for a new brand that can last over a year

My comments: 1. Don't buy "folding" walkingpad - it does not really save you any space and folding it is tiring and cumbersome. It's much better idea to buy a smaller treadmill you can store in an upright position and move easily. 2. Don't really aim for a high-spec treadmill. Buy the cheapest option available with good reviews and good door-to-door warranty. Wear and tear is normal and it's much easier to just get rid of the old treadmill and buy a new one once the warranty is over than hoping that your treadmill will last you 5+ years.

For tracking indoor treadmill Garmin has Foot Pod that connects through ant+ to their watches. Works perfectly well.

The carpet deformation will return to normal over time - it’s mostly for airflow and heat dissipation.

What a great intro. I think that losing balance will happen to so many people because these things are obviously made for people with very small stature. ER's will be very busy with these injuries

What about noise levels? I intend to use my walking pad in the office, it's a big concern.
@petestorz1726 ай бұрын
The usability will depend on the noise level in your office and whether you have cubicle walls that dampen sound. I think I could use mine in my cubicle if sound were the key consideration, but it might be a close call. The whir of the motors is not the main sound, it's the footfalls of each step.

I'm a different sort of user than this very helpful reviewer in some ways. I'm older, 6" tall, and a bit north of 300 lbs. I walk one or two 5K and/or 10K running events a month and my work includes a decent amount of walking about the building. My weight and budget pretty much determined what I bought (though what I have was not expensive, and I don't know if higher priced brands/models have the 320 lb. weight limit I bought). My belt surface is 37 1/2" x 15". Because of my stride I wish it were a bit longer, and I do have to focus some on where I am so I don't drift too far left or right. I would find a fold-up bar useful for that, but I positioned the pad near furniture I can use to help stay in the right area of the belt. What is my "Why?" I'm just trying to add a bit more activity into my day, basically an extra half mile, 3 or 4 times a week. That really is not a lot, but my finish times in my most recent 5Ks have been the best I've done in a couple of years. So that benefit has happened faster and greater than I anticipated. Were I to join a gym, that would be ~$30/month, plus gas and travel time ... in that sense the pad will pay for itself in 8 or 9 months.
@petestorz1726 ай бұрын
One of the very slightly annoying things to me in how I was using the walking pad was I didn't feel comfortable walking (at 3.0 and 3.2 mph) hands free, which is why I rested my hand on a nearby bookshelf, to keep centered on the belt (not for balance). A week or so ago I changed to walking at 2.0 mph while reading, for about the same duration, and doing this hands-free. It worked, but I had to move the walking pad back and forth, because I was using a table for my tablet which already had a purpose. Using a standing desk was not realistic for me, because $$ and space, but my wife thought of using an overbed table like hospitals and home care use. It was just $70, assembled quickly, and is sturdy. It works a little better, because I can adjust the table height, and get the walking pad to a slightly better position and angle.

i was so close to buying the R1 but i think even wehn i go outside jogging my normal pace rarely breaks the 6km/h speeds, unless i do sprints in between. Also the price tag is really a big point that i wasnt sure about. maybe the lower power model is more suitable afterall..... Thank you this wa s really helpful!

Very informative. Thank you! I also was thinking about the speed and found many walking pads go to 4mph at most and since I'm recovering from a foot injury, I prefer walking pace, but I also wanted one with some incline and I found two, they're a bit pricy but worth it for me. I used to prefer going outside then speding on a tredmill but something it gets late and I really don't want to get exposed to the insecurity outside since I'm from Mexico... so choosing the walking pad it is! 😊

I described my usage above, some. The Sperax I have is 3.8 mph max speed. I've used it a bit over 3 months, and for most of that I was doing 3.0 mph (20-minute mile). I recently bumped up to 3.2 mph. One of the "features" I wanted from the walking pad is that weather, time of day, and traffic are irrelevant. The minimum speed of my pad is .6 mph, and for your recovery the slower speeds may be helpful for rebuilding endurance.

In an apartment you need a some cushioning under your treadmill, there a re loads available. As for you power these thing as only 918watts they should not be causing any electrical problems which in the US is about 7-8amps perhaps your apartment has an electrical issue.

It does work. I do this with my manual treadmill and I use the fitness app along with steps app to compare between the two. I definitely don't think it's 100% accurate, most devices are not, but it is a good ballpark to measure progress over time. Hope this helps. 🙂

These treadmills are kind of productivity destroyers. How many things you can do while on desk? Work, think, problem solving, listening to music and on top of all walking. Cool idea but not so productive at the end. Just finish your work go out And touch the grass.

Focusing on productivity over physical health is the greater problem for many. Yes, go outside. But, when indoors for 40 hours weekly, feel free to raise your health profile and step back from the productivity-first mindset. Work-life balance, right ;-)
