SUMMARY
-Petrus Gonsalvus was an unusual baby: his entire body was covered with hair. As he grew up, Petrus married a beautiful woman called Lady Catherine. Their story is said to have inspired Beauty and the Beast.
-Francesco Lentini had 3 legs but learned to ride a bike and play football, and he was so amazing at all of this that at the age of 8 he went to the US and became a circus performer.
-The exceptional abilities of Christian Heinrich Heineken were obvious from a very young age. At just 10 months old, Christian could already speak, repeating the names of objects and sometimes even fully formed sentences.
-At the age of 15, Anna Haining Swan was already 6’ 8" tall and weighed around 220 lb. When she was 25, she fell in love with a circus performer named Martin Bates. He reached 6’ 8" by the time he turned 14.
-William Milligan was born in 1955 in Florida and had a rare psychological disorder, which made him have 24 full-fledged personalities who were not responsible for each other’s actions.
-Ella Harper was born with recurved knees that bent in the opposite direction to normal knees. The only way she could get around was on all fours.
-June and Jennifer Gibbons were born in 1963 in Barbados. From their very first days, the girls were quiet and didn’t communicate with anyone. As it turned out, June and Jennifer had a difficult and complicated relationship and expressed their love and hate for one another in their diaries.

There have been and are other people who are super advanced like that from a young age, but they generally don't make that much of an impact on the world. A few people just don't change everything like that. And rarely do they go into any field of science. And, just because someone is 6 times more advanced in some measure than their peers at age 4, for example, doesn't mean that they will be 6 times more advanced than their peers at age 20. More likely 2, 3, 4 times and only in narrow measures, not everything. I'm generalizing all of this from general understanding, but I think the point is made.

William Stanley Milligan’s disorder is known as dissociative identity disorder (DID). It is when an overwhelmingly traumatic event usually experienced in childhood results in the mind splitting into multiple personalities, better termed as ‘alters’. This creation of multiple alters is the mind’s way of coping with that trauma. It’s better to say alters instead of personalities because each alter is a whole different person, like the video said about Milligan’s alternates. There are varying degrees of DID, the most extreme cases being when the original owner of the body is completely gone and there is only a dominant alternate (Kim Noble is a good example). There are also some KZbinrs with DID, such as MultiplicityAndMe. Not an expert on this disorder, just wanted to inform ^^

My younger sister has DID, & has somewhere around 20 separate alters. When we went to the psychiatrist, she was SHOOK because the disorder is so rare it didn't show up in her Dr's computer, but she is good & has medicine to help control her other disorders, which are a whole different story. I've been with her for her entire life as she's my youngest sister & I dearly love her, but I know that I could never fully understand what goes on in her mind & how the disorder affects her. Love & respect to those who are affected by DID, from a caregiver of one such beautiful person 💜
@talacocheta9001
@talacocheta9001 5 жыл бұрын
DID is formed in childhood, by the age of 8-10. It isn't formed later than that, and doesn't have to come from an overwhelmingly traumatic event. It can also happen if someone is subjected to medical events, or even consistent other uncomfortable situations. Once the brain uses it as a coping mechanism, people with DID can have more alters "split off" in teen or later years due to traumatic events or lots of stress. The host and alters are called a "system." The goal of psychotherapy is now to have the system work together to have a good life; it used to be that the goal was integration, but not every systems wants or needs to do that. Sometimes integration of one or more alters is spontaneous, though. DID is uncommon and not rare. Dissociative disorders are more common than schizophrenia in the U.S.. (2% of the population compared to 1%.) One of the channels that I watch said that it's as common as bipolar disorder - which is considered common - but I haven't seen statistics on that so can't say. Here on youtube, I enjoy watching DissociaDID and The Entropy System to learn more about DID. MultiplicityAndMe has started posting again, so I've started watching them as well. (MultiplicityAndMe has a playlist with other system's channels on it.) Best wishes everyone! (Edited to add that I'm not an expert or a therapist either.)

Guys, what do "demons" have to do with dissociative identity disorder? It's just how a child's brain saves itself from a severe trauma. Yes, it is difficult to have compartmentalised memories and experiences (and sometimes debilitating), but such people living in one body can build communication and have fulfilling lives without ever committing a crime or even thinking about it. Please don't spread hate ❤️

Only 2 were Americans. Ella Harper, 1870... and the guy with different personalities, 1950... Studies have been done around the world for these cases, and there’s histories in medical journals from around the world about these cases... Nuclear energy deformities are quite different. We see it in Russian’s babies. Some cases studied in Brazil, with babies born deformed, and without a brain... not these cases showed here. It’s heartbreaking to see these babies situations, and they didn’t live, either. In Brazil, in the past, I don’t know now, but 40-50 years ago these very deformed babies weren’t allowed to live!
